@theiwsc に出品し「千亀女 紫芋仕込み」が若潮酒造として初のゴールドを受賞しました！ ＜IWSC結果＞ 千亀女 紫芋仕込み：ゴールド受賞（97ポイント） 千亀女Jo：シルバー受賞（93ポイント） GLOW ep04 : シルバー受賞（90ポイント） さつま黒若潮 : ブロンズ受賞（86ポイント） ＜IWSC出品の経緯＞ 世界の酒類コンテストの中で、50年以上の歴史があり、世界最高峰の舞台とされるIWSC。 昨年から出品していますが、やはり日本の鑑評会とは違う視点で評価されていると感じます。 世界に焼酎を広めていくために、日本国内で確立されている焼酎の評価基準を一度取っ払って、純粋に1つのお酒として評価してもらうことができる機会だと思っています。 ＜出品酒の紹介＞ 【千亀女 紫芋仕込み】 IWSCコメント：赤い果実、カシューナッツ、バターポップコーン、アールグレイティーの香りが強く感じられます。繊細で軽やかな味わいの中に、キルシュ（サクランボの蒸留酒）の甘さが感じられる。長くて広がりのある味わい。 正直、自分たちの中でもダークホースでしたが、焼酎部門の最高点に次ぐ97点を獲得。最終的に社長が好きという理由で出品した「千亀女 紫芋仕込み」が、こんなポテンシャルを秘めていたとは。IWSCのコメントで、紫芋、黒麹、木樽蒸留のそれぞれの特長が織りなす香りと味わいを評価して頂きました！ 【千亀女Jo -試作2号-】 IWSCコメント：土っぽく、スモーキーで深みがあり、香ばしいシリアルのようなトーン。味わいは、木の香り、ジンジャーブレッド、オリーブ、バナナなど、層を成して豊かである。フィニッシュは長く続く。 「麹らしさが伝わる芋焼酎」をテーマに開発を続けてきた千亀女シリーズの試作品。昨年はブロンズ、今年はシルバーを受賞することができ、評価コメントからも目標の形に近づいている気がします。今回の結果も踏まえて、発売までのスケジュールを考えていきたいと思います。 【GLOW ep04】 IWSCコメント：花、ブドウ、マンダリンオレンジのアロマが口中に広がる。ほのかなマッシュルームの香りが、フルーツの甘さとうま味のバランスをとっている。軽やかで良い酸味がある。 毎年新しい製法にチャレンジしているGLOW。今年のGLOWはパッションフルーツの香りと言われるのですが、IWSCのコメントでは、花・ブドウ・マンダリンオレンジと細かく分けて表現されています。嬉しかったのは「ほのかなマッシュルームの香りがフルーツの甘さとうま味のバランスをとっている」というところ。今年のGLOWはある変わった香りも含んでいて（それがマッシュルームの香りと表現されたのだと思うのですが）、その香りが甘さとうま味のバランスを取っていると評価されたところが、造り手として、とても嬉しかったです。 【さつま黒若潮】 IWSCコメント：フルーティーなアロマ、生き生きとしたシトラス、レッドアップル、チェリーの味わい。柔らかなテクスチャー。 甘みが特徴の黒若潮ですが、おそらく日常的に飲んでいるからこそ、先入観もあって、レッドアップルやチェリーの味わいとは全く思っていませんでしたので、新しい発見になりました。 【424GIN】 昨年に続き、ジン部門には424GINを出品しましたが、残念ながら賞を受賞することはできませんでした。色々なジンを知れば知るほどユニークな424GIN。その個性とジンというお酒の特長が融合した唯一無二のお酒を目指して、引き続きチャレンジしていきます。 今年も色々な発見がありました。これらを次の酒造りに、そして、焼酎を世界に広めるために活かしていきたいと思います。 #iwsc #iwscresults
