茶道の言葉に 「稽古とは一より習い十を知り 十よりかえるもとのその一」 という言葉があり、これは千利休の教え...と書くと宗教的なので、“教育法”に基づく「利休道歌」と言われる中のひとつ。 つまり、レベル1から順番に覚えて、レベル10に達したら、またレベル1に戻るという考え方で、エッと思う人も多い。 誰でもレベル10の次は11と思うものです。 一方で、能楽の大家である世阿弥は「初心忘れるべからず」という言葉を残しています。 「十よりかえるもとのその一」もこれに似たところがあり、10まで行って知ったつもりになっても、意外と1を完全にマスターしていないもの。 盆略点前は茶道を習い始めて最初に学ぶ点前ですが、ある程度の点前まできた時、ここに戻ります。 出来ているつもりで、実は出来ていない。 先週、6月、９月とお世話になった在タイ日本大使館の皆様がお越しくださり、お土産にいただいたお菓子は、アールア・プラユックという、日本の工芸菓子にヒントを得たといわれる伝統菓子でした。 ココナッツの香りがするこのお菓子、一説によれば日本のお菓子をモデルにしたという。 明治３６年に来日した現在のタイ、シャム王国の皇太子時代のラーマ６世が京都で食したこのお菓子に感銘し、職人を呼んで御前で製造を見学したのち、その菓子を国に持ち帰って作らせたのが最初といわれます。 日本では使われないココナッツなど、１３０年ほどの間にタイ国民好みに進化をしていますが、小麦粉と砂糖をメインに、ココナッツオイルを使って練り、幾日もかけて日干しをして作るという大変手間暇のかかるお菓子だそうです。 お茶のお菓子としてはややココナッツの香りがあるものの、しっとりした食感に甘すぎないところは、お茶に合うと思いました。お稽古で用いつつ、来客の方にもお楽しみをいただきました。 一度お茶会に使った茶碗はしっかり干す。 これは鉄則ですが、楽茶碗や萩茶碗は使用前にしっかりぬるま湯に浸け、水を吸わせます。 茶碗によっては50g(50ml)吸うこともあります。 水を吸わせることで、水分が遮りとなって抹茶が奥深くに入らないようにする効果があります。洗剤とたわしでゴシゴシとかできませんからね。 先週末に使った赤楽茶碗は比較的吸わない方でしたがそれでも2日を経て16gの水が抜けました。 16gの水、どれくらいかを比較しました。 これだけの水分が含んだ状態で布に包み、桐箱に入れて保管をするとどう言う事になるか.... 水分を含んだ布にはカビが生え、茶碗に詰まった抹茶は有機物はですので水分を得て腐り始めます。 そして桐箱は湿気を通しにくい性質を持ちます。ですから日本のような気候では掛軸などの紙製品を保管するのに最適なのですが、逆に内部で水気を持つと....この効果で抜けないわけです。 そのまま100年乾燥した空間にでも置けば流石に抜けて、カビも死滅するでしょうけれど、取り出して湯を入れたら再び悪臭が出る事でしょう。電気窯などで過熱すると全てが死滅すると考えられますが、景色が変わる恐れがあります。 もちろん薬品は使えませんので、非破壊的に簡単には取れません。一つだけ、非破壊で且つ理想的な手法で除去できる方法があるのですが、それは改めでお話しようと思います。 お茶会が終わって荷造りして、持ち帰って玄関に置いて、着物の帯を解いたら、お茶会終わった感が致しますが、実はお茶会の本当のお片付けはここからなのです。 風呂敷を解いて紐を外し、木箱から出して布と茶碗を干す。 数日して状態を確認しながら箱に戻して風呂敷を掛ける。 そこに手伝ってくれる生徒社中はいません。 持ち主の仕事となります。 #お茶会の後片付け #茶会の片付け #japaneseculture 毎年9月から10月にかけて寝食を忘れて作っている雑誌ですが、先週無事に入稿を済ませ、今朝印刷が開始された連絡をいただきました。ホッと一息つくのも束の間、今度はスケジュールやロジスティックの調整です。 今回の発行部数は、800部。 その多くがフランスでの頒布になりますが、おかげさまで年々冊数が増え、ご支援をいただく機会が多くなりましたことを、心よりありがたく思う次第です。 正直、コストのかかる仕事でもあり、現地で学生向けに無償で配らせていただく事は、コスパとしてもどうなのかと指摘をいただく方もあるのですが、実はこの仕組みは2013年から始まりました。 当時の授業で説明をし、配布していたのは1枚ペラの「紙」でした。その時はとても興味を持ってくれるのですが、一度授業が終わってしまえばそれは保管されないことも多く、どうにか学生たちに家に持ち帰ってもらい、保管してもらえる方法は無いかと考えた結果が32ページの小冊子でした 奇しくも2015年、朝日焼の松林さんと一緒に行ったときの冊子がその小冊子でした。あれから10年です。 この小冊子を配った翌年、効果が出ます。 ボロボロになったその冊子を持って、質問をしてくる生徒が何人も現れたのです。 1枚ペラの紙では、おそらくここまで1年保管してくれる事はなかったでしょう。手間暇かかりましたが、狙いはヒットしたようです。 そこから少しずつ自分たちで費用を出しながら、ページ数を増やし、できるだけ多くの伝統工芸作品を見ていただこうと、写真集のような形で制作をしていきました 32ページで始まった本ですが、10年を経て164ページまで成長しました。毎年シリーズのように集めてくださり、楽しみにしてくださる生徒さんやOBさん先生方もおられます。 巻頭言も、当初は地元の市長さんに書いていただいていたものですが、最近では大学の学長をはじめ、畏れ多い方々にも筆を執って頂けるようにになりました。 しかし、これだけの冊子を作るためには、多くの方々のスポンサードが必要であり、企業様のお支えでなんとか作らせていただいています。 そこで、さらなるご支援をいただければと思い、今回制作の冊子についてその一部分をご紹介させていただきます。 例年同様のお願いとはなりますが、本年も何卒ご支援を賜りたく、お願い申し上げます。 事務局投稿です。 森 宗勇が毎年フランスで行っている茶道講義について、第12回を迎え、今年も開催をさせていただく運びとなりました。今年はグルノーブルのほかに初開催となるマルセイユ、そしてパリでも計画いたしております。 図録の制作も順調に進んでおり、今年は宇治の伝統的な茶陶・朝日焼と墨絵の世界を茶道と共に紹介をさせていただく予定です。コラボレーションの作品も発表予定です。 朝日焼と墨絵の作品集、そして茶道についての紹介を日本語フランス語で記した冊子を11月に制作いたします。フランス語の翻訳は、グルノーブル大学の学生たちが授業の一環として取り組んでくれており、毎年質の高い書籍作品としてご評価をいただいております。 例年同様のお願いとはなりますが、本年も何卒ご支援を賜りたく、お願い申し上げます。 なお、若干ではございますが、広告欄のご掲載も承ります。 official2025/09/25に公開- 指定なし0.0%-0【白耳義々山水指】 漢字で書くとこうなりますが、訳すとベルギーガラス水指。 今日は長板二つ置きとしました。 江戸時代、 ガラスのことをギヤマンと言いました。 ギヤマンはオランダ語でDiamant、英語のダイヤモンド(Diamond)を意味したそうです。これはガラス製品を加工する道具がダイヤモンドだったからです。 日本人はこれを当て字にして、漢字で義山と書きました。 義山水指とあれば、それはガラスの水指です。 江戸時代に日本に到来した西洋のものは、そのほぼ全てが長崎、すなわちオランダを経由した事に由来しています。 この水指は近頃お道具やさんから到来したもので、ベルギーのヴァル・サンランべール @valsaintlambert と言う老舗ガラス工房の作品。 7と8月は暑いので、平装または浴衣で稽古をしています。 今年も茶箱は練習しますが、行事も多く、和装の練習もテコ入れしています。茶箱の点前が朝茶の湯でお見せできるレベルになるか焦りが出ております。 そして同時に茶道文化検定の受験勉強も開始です。全員が1-3級保持者なので今年は全員の1-2級合格を目指してもらいます。日本でもおそらくここくらいの勤務時間の茶道稽古なので、合否は勤務姿勢に直結します。 初炭点前と書いてしまいがちですがこの２つ、読みは同じですが意味が変わっています。 一般に、茶道では「お点前」と言いますが、それはお茶を「点てる」所作から来ています。濃茶は「練る」とも言いますが。 炭をセットする際には「点てる」ではなく、その所作を拝見する意味から「手前」となります。 お花を生ける際も「花手前」という言葉が使われます。裏千家の点前には花点前と言う茶箱のお点前もあるのでご注意です。 長板。その元は台子という、最上級とも言えるお点前から派生したもので、小間のお茶が考案される前からあったと言われます。恐らく考案者は能阿弥や村田珠光。能阿弥は室町幕府の11代将軍、足利義政の前で点前を行い、珠光はその手法を体系化させた茶法を考案した人物と言われます ゆえに四畳半ではなく、広間の茶室に限って行われます。中国では卓であった台子を点前の道具に転用させた珠光の時代は、畳の下に炉もなかったわけで、このように置かれた風炉が基本だったと考えられます。珠光が用いた台子は現存しませんが、この長板も台子の部品から来ているのかもしれません。 珠光から紹鴎、そして千利休と伝わったお点前の原点でもあり、空気がキリッとします。 #長板 ＃皆具 #matcha 先週末は通算で56人目、57人目の入門許状をお渡ししました。彼らの茶道歴がここからカウントされていきます。 入門許状は早い時期に取られるといいですね。 許状の授与に際しては、利休居士像を掛け、三具足と言われるお供え道具を飾ります。日本人としては厳粛な室礼として受け取りますが、全ての人がそうではないという事にも配慮が必要です。 海外の方に茶道を紹介した時に重々学んだ経験ですが、外国籍の生徒もいる中、宗教色を感じさせる室礼は抵抗感を持たせてしまうことがあります。 私は授与を行うことに、あくまでも宗教的ではなく、茶道を入 成した千利休居士を顕彰（＝績や善行などをたたえて広く世間に知らしめる）する意味、その未裔であるお家元の書状を、代わりにお渡しするということを説明します。 茶道裏千家の家元にある正門。 築190年ほど。11代玄々斎精中宗室（1810～1877）が 大徳寺龍光院の門を模して建てたもの。 この写真では見えませんが、内側の軒端中央を半円形に切り込んだ槍返しのあるのが、兜に似ていることから兜門とよばれています。大名家に生まれて千家に婿入りされた玄々斎らしい好みです。 昨日は、春から進めてきたプロジェクトの最終のご挨拶に参りました。 このため、前日に旧領久留里に入り、歴代の墓所へ墓参を済ませてきました。私なりの斎戒沐浴です。 墓所の前につがいのキジが出迎えてくれたのが印象的でした。そう言う時に限って写真が撮れないものです。 そのおかげでしょうか。 ずっと曇り空か雨天だった毎日でしたが、この日ばかりは美しい空を見せてくれて、真夏のような暑さ。 辞去するや、思わずネクタイを外してしまいました。 朝顔や 釣瓶取られて もらひ水 という俳句があるほどに釣瓶は夏の季語や風物詩のように扱われ、お茶でも風炉に合わせることが多い道具ですが、真冬でも井戸を汲むように釣瓶水指そのものは通年で用いるとされています。特に名水点には欠かせません。 とはいえ所詮は生活用具の見立て道具なので、棚や板のような高貴な場所には置くことができず、畳に直置きが原則。 蓋の扱いあたり、御園棚で出来たら面白いと思うのですが。 ちょっと蒸してまいりましたので、釣瓶の水指を持ち出しました。東京タワーやこの稽古場では城下久留里の名水を用いることもあるので、さぞかし名水点をと思いきや、慣れ過ぎてしまって意外に行わないものです。 釣瓶水指も春慶塗や竹張の物など様々な姿があり、木地で檜のものが利休好、竹張は淡々斎好とされておりますが、こちらは見事な杉材で組まれています。
