While uniform in appearance, each amber bottle of our Eaux de Parfum contains a complex aroma that defies commonplace categorisation. New Virēre Eau de Parfum may most succinctly be described as a fresh fragrance with citrus, green and woody notes—yet its nuances are best experienced first-hand.

Enveloped in luminescence. In a traditional Shikumen-style building in the Xintiandi district of Shanghai, our second store to open in mainland China takes cues from the area’s atmosphere and material palette. A shaded terrazzo terrace offers refuge for weary ramblers, where an outdoor basin invites them to cleanse and refresh. Once inside, visitors are immersed in a mineral cavern where curved atriums allow wells of light to bathe the environment, and a monumental basin appears to levitate in a surreal zone of reflected rays.

A circular chamber radiates from the centre, where Danish bricks were meticulously laid by local masons.

Aesop Rockefeller Center: inviting monumentality. Inspired by the New York landmark’s Art Deco interiors, the design of our store uses the proportions of the room and furniture to create striking volumes. A custom-made bas-relief by Olivier Cousy—an abstract triptych cast in plaster—echoes the grandeur of the Center’s artworks, while subtle geometries of felt panels and porcelain tiles create a reverent, almost domestic hush.

Balanced Brutalism at Aesop Luitpoldblock. This generously proportioned, high-ceilinged Munich store experiments with striking contrasts of materiality and texture. Designed in collaboration with @einszu33, the space features brutalist concrete elements that chime with the locale, alongside delicate tactile accents. A Carrara marble countertop softens the atmosphere, as do the aged brass of a vertical trapeze and the rosy hue of velvet panels that line the space.

In celebration of Chuseok, an installation by local artisan Minwook Kim is on show until 22 September at Aesop Samcheong. Aesop Knightsbridge opened shortly after the dismantling of our installation at Salone del Mobile.Milano 2024, which used the pragmatic bar of soap as building material.
