もうすぐ始まるお盆の送り火京都の夏の夜を彩る「五山送り火」は、8月16日に行われるお盆の伝統行事です。お盆に迎えたご先祖様の霊を、再び送り出すための儀式として、かがり火が焚かれます。午後8時、東山に「大」の文字が点火されるのを皮切りに、「妙法」「船形」「左大文字」「鳥居形」が順に点灯。市内各所からこの幻想的な光景を眺めることができます。 Gozan Okuribi is a traditional event held on the night of August 16th in Kyoto, beautifully illuminating the city's summer sky. It is a ceremony to send the spirits of ancestors, welcomed during the Obon festival, back to the other world. Starting at 8 p.m., the character "Dai" (大) is lit on the Higashiyama mountain, followed by "Myoho," "Funagata," "Hidari Daimonji," and "Toriigata" in succession. Aoi Matsuri is one of the three major annual festivals in Kyoto, Japan. It features a Parade from the Imperial Palace to the Kamo Shrines, with participants dressed in traditional Heian-period costumes.
