How is everyone spending this special evening? The origins of the Mid-Autumn Festival trace back to China. In ancient China, the moon was considered a symbol of fertility and prosperity. The full moon on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month was particularly bright and beautiful, giving rise to the custom of offering thanks and prayers. It is said to have become established as a day for families to gather together and gaze at the moon.
