  • … I heard about this project just two days before the shoot. 😭 It was my first time working with Austrian gaffer, @james_thompson_lx , the 'Fairy of Light'🧚, and I was truly impressed by his proactive passion and swift adaptability. He's undoubtedly one of the best gaffer in Tokyo. This project was driven entirely by passion, so we made do without our usual high-end camera and 18kw. Instead, natural light and my fantastic crew stepped up to the plate. The sunlight was key in almost every scene, particularly when defining the edges of the boy's hair - something we couldn't have done without the strength of natural light. If I could tweak one thing, I would have shifted the sunlight a bit more to the left. But that's the beauty of filmmaking.   • SEISHUN WO KIRISAKU HADO director/ @sayaka_nakane producer / @yasdaq13_osawa colorist / @yoshiyuki_nishida95 drone operator / @r.y.o.1.1.0.7 focus Puller / @yumaosawa Reflecting back on our trip to Tottori prefecture, Even though we were a small team, we had a lot of passion for making their music video. I used a Sony FX6, a Compact Prime 3, and a Laowa 12mm. At first, I wasn't sure if the FX6 could hold its own against the likes of Alexa or Venice, but it turned out to be pretty impressive. A huge thanks to @yoshiyuki_nishida95 for achieving high-end color grading. We filmed most scenes with natural light, and for some, I used a Titan Tube and a bit of bounce light on their faces. The equipment was basic, but I'm thankful to my gaffer, @r.y.o.1.1.0.7 1.1.0.7 , who knew just where to position the lights for the best effect. I'm really grateful to director @sayaka_nakane and producer @yasdaq13_osawa @maimai1924 , who always allow me to shoot the way I prefer. Lastly, a special thanks to my camera crew, @yumaosawa and @kotarohasegawa , who not only assisted with equipment transportation but also showcased their professional techniques with camera and the Ronin2. 🙏 @japan_leaders @mizyu_leaders @rin_leaders @kanon_leaders @suzuka_leaders

  • ASUKEN This was my first time using @panavisionofficial Primo lenses with a Sony Venice camera. My first impression of Panavision was, "Wow, this feels like a Hollywood movie!" The lenses offer such rich contrast, tones, and bokeh. In the scene at the ramen shop, my genius gaffer @james_thompson_lx created beautiful highlights on the shop, ramen, and the actress. These highlights were made by reflecting a mole beam off cine reflectors. The mole beam always brings a touch of magical realism. My favorite picture is the fourth one. Director @yuichirozamurai ‘s"air ramen" directing (similar to air guitar) is very cute. Colorist @_ariga.haruka.aripey_ 👑 @artone_film

  • It was just a brief 20-minute experience. After taking a break, I came across a herd of yaks right in front of me. They were so distinctive and elegant, but also delicate, running away as soon as I got close to them. I tried to blend in with the herd, greeted them, and managed to take some portrait shots of the yaks. The last two photos are of Yak dung illuminated by the light of the full moon. While photographing in -10℃ weather, I set my Hasselblad camera's shutter speed to 35 seconds and had to keep the button pressed down the entire time. My fingers became so cold that I was afraid of getting frostbite. After 15 seconds, my fingers started to hurt, but I persevered for the remaining 20 seconds in order to capture the necessary light on film #ektar100 #kodakektar100 #kodakfilm #hasselblad500cm #hasselblad
