This week, we have welcomed the staff from Gyu + Bar from Hirafu, Niseko. This tour provided them with an excellent opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of our Gin and future Whisky. The other day, we harvested the local "Wa hakka," Japan's native peppermint, for our limited edition "ohoro GIN Limited Edition Japanese peppermint." Harvesting took place under the watchful eye of Mount Yotei, iconic "Ezo Fuji." Fragrance of freshly picked Japanese Hakka was pleasant in the autumn breeze. The work was exhausting but gratefully pleasant. We have received many inquiries for the next seasonal gin, but it is not available yet. Some final harvesting must be performed. Please keep patience. We opened in difficult circumstances due to the coronavirus pandemic, but thanks to the passion and ingenuity of our staff, we have been able to get to this day. We have also had some good news in the past three years. Our "ohoro GIN (standard)" has won various awards, including the World's Best at the World Gin Awards 2024. Our new pot spirits has already filled more than 500 barrels, and in May of this year, some barrels have exceeded three years of storage, reaching the ranks of Japanese whisky, a new storage facility has been completed in Niseko town. Just as the leaves of autumn change color with the progressing cold weather, our whiskey will continue to mature, gradually developing a beautiful amber hue. All of our staff are deeply grateful to the customers who have visited us so far. It's only been three years. The sunflowers in front of the second whisky storage ( a short distance away from the distillery ) are still in full bloom. The number of casks, was only about 40 this spring. As new barrels were added last week, The number of barrels has increased to about 200.
