The surface is then polished to smooth the hammer marks, creating a unique surface. Finally, a roller is used to create the distinct potato-chip curve, and the mounting section is bent at a 90-degree angle to complete the piece. From the very first strike to the final shape, every step is performed by hand. When lit, the bulb's light softly illuminates walls and ceilings, creating a tranquil atmosphere. In this area, square metal profiles have been fitted with linear light suspended by a thin steel wire. The downward light ensures the necessary work light, while the upward light softly illuminates the existing silver slabs, emphasising the factory feel. We have repurposed a sun shutter from Jean Prouvé’s Tropical House in Cameroon as the entrance door. Next to our office, there is a staff dining room with a small kitchen. Large windows overlook the Nara Basin and bring in plenty of natural light. Products still in development are installed in the dining area so we can test their usability and appearance in actual use. photo @hiroki_kawata #ニューライトポタリー #newlightpottery2025/08/28に公開- 指定なしhttps://www.instagram.com/explore/tags/ニューライトポタリー#ニューライトポタリーhttps://www.instagram.com/explore/tags/newlightpottery#newlightpottery0.66%3690新たに設置した大階段を上ると、天窓からの光が広がる明るいショップエリアです。幅の広いフローリングと左官の下地材で仕上げた壁のシンプルな構成が、照明器具を引き立てています。倉庫スペースだったスキップフロアの小さいエリアは商談・レジスペースとし、MINEに制作を依頼した木製家具で仕切って目線を分断しています。 二箇所設けた大壁の裏側は、光の効果を確認する為に外光の届かない暗いエリアになっています。壁の裏は黒谷和紙のハタノワタル氏によるもので、和紙の壁は光を吸収し柔らかく見せてくれます。 A wide staircase leads to a bright shop area, filled with natural light from the full-length skylights. The interior is kept simple, with a floor of wide solid wooden planks and walls finished in matte Japanese plaster—giving our light fixtures room to shine. A small meeting and checkout area features bespoke furniture by local craftsman Wataru Nakamine. Behind two large walls is a darkened area, completely free of natural light. The backs of these walls are finished in Kurotani washi paper by washi artist Wataru Hatano. Large windows with wide openings allow visitors to sit on benches and enjoy the view of the front garden and the Kasuga primeval forest. The bright neon sign on the facing wall is contrasted with the warm light of the incandescent bulbs used elsewhere. The table in the centre is a reinterpretation of Enzo Mari's table from his autoprogettazione series and doubles as an exhibition table and a table tennis table. What was once a parking area has been transformed into a lush front garden, planted with native tree species from the adjacent forest to create a seamless connection between the two. The landscape design is by Nara-based Planta. Visible behind a traditional rammed earthen wall, is a custom-made brass door by atelier TUAREG. (The photo shows the exhibition at PPMøbler, CPH, last October).2025/06/02に公開- 指定なし1.11%6210【Monk / brass】 屋外の照明は煌々と明るい必要はなく、暗がりでほんのりと灯っているくらいがいい。 だから、眩しさを抑えるためにガラスをグレーにし、さらに内側にフロスト加工をすることで眩しくないちょうどいい光をつくりました。 真鍮のカバーは鋳物で制作しており、鋳物ならではの重厚感と素材感を感じていただけます。 カバーの表面は適度に研磨して仕上げ、逆に内側はあえて鋳肌を残しており、点灯時に光を鈍く反射します。 真鍮の経年変化を感じられるbrassと、真鍮を黒染めしたよりマッシブな印象のblackの2色展開です。 どちらの色も時間とともに黒く変色し建築に馴染んでいきます。 Outdoor lighting doesn't need to be glaringly bright, but just enough to be faintly lit in the dark. Therefore, to reduce glare, the glass is grey and frosted on the inside to create just the right amount of light without glare. The brass cover is made from cast metal, which gives it a sense of weight and materiality that only cast metal can provide. The surface of the cover is finished with moderate polishing, while the cast surface is left on the inside, which reflects the light dully when lit. Available in two colours: brass, which gives the impression of brass ageing, and black, which gives a more massive impression of brass dyed black. The ceramic base is available in grey, beige and burgundy with different nuanced glazes. When lit, the light spreading under the shade makes the ceramic base appear more expressive.
