The event was held twice with limited and spaced out seating per COVID-19 guidelines, but the guests' speeches, live presentations and global chefs' marvelous dishes created a warm environment. Of course it was tears of joy to be able to take her home with me, but at the same time, seeing that she had been beaten, abandoned, and in sick condition was heartbreaking. I promised to her and myself that I will fully cure her mentally, physically, and emotionally by doing everything that I can do for her. She overcame her disease, gradually regained her appetite, and slowly learned to walk and run like she used to. She opened up to me and showed emotions again. Today, when she hears the sound of her favorite treat in the bag (Slide 4), she runs to me with joy and it's an incomparable feeling. -“A dog is the only thing on Earth that loves you more than she/he loves herself/himself.” -Josh Billings Dogs will never judge you by age, gender, background, or race. This time, I walked through Times Square for the first time in over a year and was quite shocked to find that there were people everywhere I went. It was the perfect temperature and weather the day of the shoot (April 10th) which was likely another reason why a lot of people came out of their homes. I visited a couple other spots for coverage and found that there were also many people strolling and having relaxed, socially-distanced picnics. Although so many people have left New York this past year and the city has lost its spark, the sakura (cherry blossoms) that were beautifully and powerfully blooming in Central Park seemed to give a lot of strength, warmth and hope to everyone. Let's all continue to do our part and be mindful not to loosen safety precautions as we work towards the light of the tunnel. This year, SK-II STUDIO will be unveiling a series of eight original films, and the first released film is called "The Center Lane" directed by Hirokazu Koreeda of an inspirational story of swimmer Ikee Rikako's return to competitive swimming. "I believe that taking just one action or having one thought that's out of the ordinary can change your destiny." These words by Ikee-san touched my heart. These words are by my dearest ballet teacher, and I miss her so much. My lovely friend and gorgeous dancer @kyliesheaxo and I were in the same ballet company under artistic director Mrs. Stander years ago, and Kylie sent me a very heartwarming gift in memory of her. Kylie wrote a children's book dedicated to Mrs. Stander, and after asking her followers to help make it come to life, 74 artists around the world (ranging from age 6 to 75 from 25 countries) came together to complete the piece. The beautiful artwork and relatable story truly touched my heart and brought back so many memories. Slide 2 is from a performance back when I was 11 years old. It was a piece which I was selected to join and dance with the senior company members including Kylie! I remember being thrilled to be able to dance together, but I was also nervous and worried for the big stage. I wasn't confident dancing en pointe yet at the time and was struggling with a fast-paced challenging solo I was given. But I remember how Mrs. Stander, Kylie, and all the dancers would be so encouraging by repeatedly telling me "you're doing great, darling!" and "you've got this!" I wasn't able to dance it as perfectly as I wished, but I certainly enjoyed dancing it with all my heart. Even though Mrs. Stander has left us, her legacy continues to live on. Whenever I'm going through a rough time, I listen to her voice in my head to lift me up.
