Appreciation post for my awesome housemates 😁🙏🏻 Meant to post this at my one year mark of living here in April… but when am I ever on time with posting stuff?? Lol Anyways, I’m super thankful for these guys 😁 I know for sure that without them this whole pandemic life would be much more depressing. Honestly, I originally came to live here simply because searching for an apartment wasn’t working out; it was almost a last ditch effort. But, we all got along so well almost immediately so it quickly, and unexpectedly became a home to me. They were the reason I stayed and thankfully I did, because staying here actually has led to my current job… which was preceded by an impressive amount of, well, not finding a job lol. But, While not being jobless is a huge thing for me… what I’m much more thankful for, and what I will always remember, is the ridiculous amount of amazing stories with them I already have. I’d love to recollect all of them, but I’m not trying to write a novel 😂 (though, some of them are absolutely worthy of being part of a novel 🤣) But, one thing I must say is that they have both intentionally, and maybe even more so unintentionally been there for me through a lot of hard times in my life this last year and a half… being able to rely on them for good times and honest talks makes it easy to live happily in these tough times! Wow, it’s been 3 years on this day since I came to Japan... I can’t believe it. So many people came together to help me make some amazing memories and I’m so thankful for all of you ❤️ I didn’t want to play favorites and I haven’t posted many pictures of just myself in a while so, here’s some of them over the years of me doing some of my favorite things in my favorite places 😁 though... not many of me doing musical stuff... guess I need to change that 😏😏 . A little late, but happy Father’s Day, pops! Thanks for always being someone to look up to and for always encouraging me to pursue the things I care about and supporting me every step of the way. I know I am difficult to deal with so I’m sorry... and it means a lot that you always put up with it and look towards the future positively. Although, it’s not like I have any competition for “favorite son” so my spot is basically guaranteed, so maybe I can keep getting away with my bs, huh? 😆😇 just kidding, I should step my son game up a bit because you’ve always been such a great father to me, and one that I have always been able to brag about to my friends. You have always been the “cool dad”. I always got to do cool things and have because of you, and my friends always made me so aware of how great that was because they would always tell me how unique that was. You still keep it up and on top of that you lead a life that should encourage other geezers to step up their game and also encourage young guys to not let themselves go, and that being passionate about something is the key to a good life. You’ve aged like a fine cheese; you’re very sharp, go well with various alcohols, and kinda smelly. Anyways, thanks for being such a badass. This is an incredibly overdue post, but better late than never. 😁 This guy, better known as Moose, has got to be one of the kindest and most honest dudes I’ve ever met. Randomly heard him talking about Seattle on a bus ride to a snowboarding trip (Shiga Kogen beer festival) and ended up becoming extremely good friends, lol. It’s not often that I meet people who are so openly kind and actually continue to show trustworthiness through and through. Even though we haven’t known each other that long, It’s obvious that we’re gonna be homies for a long time. I have some really great friends in my life who are very important to me, and it’s awesome to become friends with others who show that kind of quality. He sets the bar insanely high for being reliable and compassionate. Just like for Mother’s Day... I’m super late on posting a picture for Father’s Day... (I can’t play favorites... 😏) lol Actually this time I have a reason, he asked me to draw him something instead of buy him something for Father’s Day... (I guess he doesn’t like flowers). School has been pretty busy so it has taken me a while but now it’s finally done 😁 It was pretty nice that he simply wanted something that is based on my ability, rather than something material and easy to simply buy. I would say that this really describes what kind of father he is; someone who has always supported my strengths and abilities throughout my life. He has always encouraged me to pursue the things that I truly enjoy, and to make sure that my career is based on that. It might be easy to say that, but he definitely teaches that insight based on experience. His success in life is incredible, and he continues to strive and inspire me. I mean, what kid can say that his dad retired at 55 and places in the top 2% in world wide CrossFit competitions? He is setting the bar SUPER HIGH for me to make excuses and to succeed no matter what. He has always challenged me, and without those challenges, I would probably have no abilities of my own to be proud of, and no meaningful goals for myself. (Although, he might say that I have challenged him more hahaha 😂) Also, He also knows how to party, how to cook, and how to make lasting friendships; some qualities that others might say i reflect 😆😏 We might have different interests and perspectives... but his ability to encourage me, and my ability to be inspired by his success are both transcendent of those differences. I know this post is super late... but I can’t leave mom feeling left out of the Mother’s Day posts. (Don’t worry, she got flowers and a card on time) 😏 Of course she’s the best mother in the world, and I’m sure everyone already knows that 😏 Anyways, without her, I wouldn’t have the understanding of compassion and kindness that I try so hard to perpetuate. Without her I would have nothing to fuel my life goals. Without her, I wouldn’t have a reason to be thankful for life. Actually, without her I wouldn’t even be alive... but she kinda forced me to be alive so that’s a bit of a gray area... haha 😝 Regardless of how I came into existence, and most importantly, she gave me my smile.
