)に、ジャーナリストの視点から4つのポイントを挙げながら語っていただきます。今回は、2つ目のポイントを紹介。全4回の短期シリーズで、計28アイテムをお届けしていきます。 ---------------------------------------------------------------- ポイント② 強く主張せず人の心を捉える素材感の豊かさ 家具にとって素材とは何でしょうか。 それを単に材料とするなら、椅子の座面を支えるフレームは木でも金属でもプラスチックでも問題なく、実用性やコストだけを考えればいいはずです。しかし、素材をデザインの大切な構成要素と捉えると、どんな素材を選び、どう扱うかが重要になります。 例えば木にはまったく同じ木目や素材感のものはなく、その加工や仕上げによっても味わいが大きく左右されます。さらに複数の素材を組み合わせるには、研ぎ澄まされたセンスと経験が求められます。素材使いに関する姿勢の革新こそは、やがて家具のデザインの主要なテーマになっていくでしょう。 Hotel」の設計デザインを手掛けたのは、武田清明建築設計事務所。デザインコンセプトは「路地裏園芸」というユニークなものです。この地域では、昔から植物の株分けの習慣があり、路地裏には100種類以上の植物の鉢植えが並んでいるのだそう。ホテル内外には多くの植物が配置されていますが、近隣の方々から譲ってもらった植物も多く活用されています。 また、客室にはカセットプレイヤーがあり、地域の人々などから集めたカセットを好きに選んで聴くことも。ご近所とのつながりや、人のあたたかさを感じられる工夫が随所に散りばめられているのも、このホテルの魅力です。 1階には、サワードウピザを楽しめる「Pizza Tane」もオープン。旬の野菜のピュレやローストをたっぷりとトッピングしたピザは、人形町の新たな名物となりそうです🍕 20世紀の名作家具がしばしばアイコニックなフォルムをしていたのに対して、未来の名作は過度に主張しない姿をしているでしょう。それらは機能や素材に対して実直で、タイムレスな要素で構成され、さまざまな住空間に無理なくなじんでいく。 サイズ感も無駄がなく、ディテールまで使う人へのこまやかな配慮がなされている。 自然と緩やかに融合し、周辺の環境そのものを創出する住宅を数多く手掛けている建築家・前田圭介さん。広島を拠点に、住宅をはじめさまざまなプロジェクトで活躍されている前田さんが選ぶ「世界一の豪邸」と豪邸論を伺いました。 ■後山山荘／旧・藹然荘 およそ100年前に『藹然荘（あいぜんそう）』として鞆の浦（とものうら）に建てられ、その後、建築家の藤井厚二が自邸『聴竹居』の写しといえるサンルームを南面へ増築した住まいです。 しかし、1960年代頃から主を失った住まいは長らく人々に忘れられ、崩壊した姿で2009年に現在の主によって発見されました。微かに残存する『藹然荘』が再び新たな主と建築家を引き合わせ、2013年に「後山山荘」（改修・設計／前田圭介）の名で、多くの協力者によって再生されました。 「さまざまな場所で開発の波が押し寄せている現代において、住宅だけではなく
