The Sea of Yo Village One of the defining features of Yo Village is its beautiful ocean. Because the community has carefully protected this coastline over generations, rich coral reefs remain, and the area is known as a nesting site for sea turtles. A uniquely shaped rock called Chinji Rock stands as a symbol of the village, quietly watching over the shore. Its aroma is bright and refreshing, with a hint of orange-like fragrance. The harvest season lasts only one month—February. Many locals look forward to this time of year, and visitors who come to Amami in winter often leave as tankan fans. The trees in the garden, the coral stone walls, and graffiti left on the pillars - The thoughts and history of those who lived here exist in those. We cooked together using ingredients we’d bought earlier, ate dinner as usual, and had a little drink tonight. The next morning, we enjoyed our own time. At sunset, we took a stroll to Yani Fishing Port where a sea turtle came to greet us.
