Goldie went missing 10 years ago and never came back. His owner still remembers him every day and whenever she passes by the house she lived in at the time, she always looks for him and the fact that she never got to say goodbye has stuck with her for a long time. For this reason, there were only a few photographs for the creation. Since photographs do not always capture Goldie's personality, the two of us searched the Internet for images that would provide clues to Goldie's creation, and we communicated with each other to find out his characteristics. It was hard to tell from the pictures, but Goldie has beautiful yellow eyes✨. It was a very fulfilling creation. It felt like a tunnel with no way out, But in the end, I think I was able to express the ideal "glossy black" that I wanted. The 3 months of online lessons have been successfully completed! Today, I would like to share with you just a few of my students' works. The online class I held this time was, I taught them how to create their own texture, how to paint with a sense of transparency, and how to express colors. When creating a wool felted piece, there is not an abundance of glass eyes available on the market to match your image. I spent several years researching original techniques for making glass eyes. There are several points that make it difficult to make your own glass eye. At first, all of my students were at a loss. We had a great group of friends who encouraged each other and shared our discoveries with each other, we were able to I feel that we were all able to improve together. Osamu, for example, looks like a black cat in one photo and bright reddish-brown in another, and so on. My creation process begins by correcting the color tones of each photograph on a computer based on interviews, and then printing them out. This process eliminates any confusion about color in the creation. Then, I first make a pattern for my work. My ideal is not to create a cat that looks exactly like a single photo, but rather the expression of Osamu as a "wakuneco,” which is the output of my interpretation. ＊ Osamu is currently battling a brain tumor. I have three cats myself, and I get upset at the slightest sign of illness. I can understand how Osamu’s owner is feeling right now.
