As it is the only earthquake-damaged building left from the tsunami fire and is an important facility for preserving the memories and experiences of the disaster for future generations, we paid close attention to the materials and colors so as not to disturb the scenery of the remains. The facility name sign at the entrance was created so that the background could be seen through it. The gray exterior signage was painted with a highly durable polyvalent coating, and the colors were left as they were at the time of painting. Sustainability is becoming an increasingly important consideration in branding these days. However, there are almost no ready-made products with sustainability in mind when selecting materials for various aspects of printing, not just packaging. I have long thought that there is a need for ready-made products, so I thought it would be a good chance to try create a brand of recycled paper for graphic trials. From before, most of the waste materials produced at Toppan Printing are effectively reused, and my activity will not significantly improve environmental problems. However, I feel that the most important thing to convey through this project was to create a situation in which the expression of impurities is accepted as a good product with added value and something beautiful, rather than a value system in which only things that have no impurities are beautiful. The waste materials were photographed and printed on recycled paper. Recycled paper is not suitable for printing, so it was difficult to fix the visuals on the paper, which required advanced printing techniques. In addition, we asked photographer Mikiya Takimoto to help us with the visuals, and he photographed the waste material as a wonderful work of art. This trial was a recycling trial, using waste materials not only as paper materials, but also as visuals, making the best use of waste materials. This project was established in 1973 with the aim of recovering the natural environment, ecosystem, and habitat of wild storks. Through a series of engaging activities planned by Suntory to invoke and promote environmental conservation, the project was conceived as a part of the ”Suntory Bird Campaign”. When we consider waterside ecosystems, large birds are often placed at the very top. Paper kites resembling storks, fly high in the sky and our hope through this project is to reconfigure our imaginations for a lush natural environment where large wild storks can soar, and live with their children. Evoking the aesthetics of an ecological pyramid, we designed a logo for the project which uses a long thread connecting the wild birds living in the natural environment (resembling a bird-kite), with hopes which are entrusted to the children as our future. Year：2016 Cpoy：小藥元 @kogusurigen Photo：Hiroki Nakashima @nakashimahiroro2023/02/03に公開- 指定なし2.24%39916Dロゴ＿久松湯 東京都練馬区に位置する公衆銭湯 天然温泉久松湯 のリニューアルに伴うロゴ、サインデザインを担当しました。 ここ数年、地元に根付き、昔から親しまれていた銭湯がモダンにリニューアルされることが多く、久松湯についても同様にリニューアルが計画されました。 久松湯のロゴを検討する際、リニューアルによって建物がモダンな外観に変わったとしても、利用する方々が久松湯であることがわかるような親しみと信頼感をデザインで表現するべきだと考えました。また、モダンな建築・インテリアに合うように、旧来の温泉マークである「♨️」からモダンな新しい温泉マークを作り上げるような気持ちで「ゆ」のロゴを制作しました。 そこで、湯煙の中に平仮名の「ゆ」の字を配置することで、温泉マークを分かりやすい形で表現しました。 6D Logo_Hisamatuyu Located in Tokyo’s Nerima-ku, the Hisamatsuyu public baths underwent a renewal where we were commissioned to create its branding and signage designs. Over the recent years, the popular and locally established public baths have been renewed with a contemporary aesthetic and without exception, the Hisamatsuyu took on a makeover. While we designed the Hisamatsuyu logo, felt that our designs should convey a sense of trusted familiarity. So even with the venue’s renewed transformation with a modern appearance, the image of Hisamatsuyu would still remain preserved to its visitors. Furthermore, the "ゆ(Yu-hot water)" character was created to convey the sense of a contemporary hot spring from the markings "♨️" of a traditional hot spring, in its modern architectural and interiors setting. The hiragana "ゆ" character was rearranged to evoke the familiar steamy sensations of a hot spring. A service that can be regularly delivered to homes, I felt a simple design was important to bring about this concept as an everyday lifestyle. The tanks’ product design were created by Yota Kakuta, so the punctuation mark "!" which is ever-present in our own design, were inspired by the taps of these beer tanks. And great pictures are by Hideaki Hamada. Year : 20172023/01/13に公開- 指定なし1.07%1910出雲大社は、数千年の歴史をもつ日本最古の神社の1つで、日本の神々が集まる出雲の地に象徴的に建つ神社です。 本プロジェクトでは分院として、その長い歴史と神の集まる地を表現するため、現代的デザインを感じさせないように、出雲大社の神文である「二重亀甲剣花菱」を構成する亀甲紋の六角形と、出雲の雲を掛け合わせた模様をデザインしました。 出雲の文化を埼玉分院の地にという思いから、出雲大社近辺に古くから伝わる凧を埼玉分院のためにデザインしました。 亀甲紋の六角形と出雲の雲を掛け合わせた模様に加え、縁起物で出雲祝凧のモチーフにもなっている「鶴」「亀」などを描きました。 Art Direction/Design for Izumo Taisha Saitama Branch. Build in the land of Izumo where the Japanese gods gather and with a history spanning thousands of years, the Izumo Taisha is one of the oldest shrines in Japan. To avoid the sense of a modern design, this project was designed as hexagons which reflects the crest of the turtle and composes its "double turtle sword" (or Hanabishi) as the god crest of the Izumo Taisha. Expressing its long history and as a gathering place for gods, I designed a pattern which multiplies the clouds of Izumo. Inspired by the ancient culture of Izumo, we exclusively designed kites and a series of good luck symbols for the Saitama Branch of the Izumo Taisha. As symbols of prosperity and longevity, the "crane" and "turtle" were drawn as lucky motifs to celebrate the clouds of Izumo. Year : 2020 Photo : Shingo Fujimoto / Motonori Koga @sinca666 @fun_ebrius2023/01/09に公開- 指定なし1.38%2470出雲大社は、数千年の歴史をもつ日本最古の神社の1つで、日本の神々が集まる出雲の地に象徴的に建つ神社です。 本プロジェクトでは分院として、その長い歴史と神の集まる地を表現するため、現代的デザインを感じさせないように、出雲大社の神文である「二重亀甲剣花菱」を構成する亀甲紋の六角形と、出雲の雲を掛け合わせた模様をデザインしました。 出雲の文化を埼玉分院の地にという思いから、出雲大社近辺に古くから伝わる凧を埼玉分院のためにデザインしました。 亀甲紋の六角形と出雲の雲を掛け合わせた模様に加え、縁起物で出雲祝凧のモチーフにもなっている「鶴」「亀」などを描きました。 Art Direction/Design for Izumo Taisha Saitama Branch. Build in the land of Izumo where the Japanese gods gather and with a history spanning thousands of years, the Izumo Taisha is one of the oldest shrines in Japan. To avoid the sense of a modern design, this project was designed as hexagons which reflects the crest of the turtle and composes its "double turtle sword" (or Hanabishi) as the god crest of the Izumo Taisha. Expressing its long history and as a gathering place for gods, I designed a pattern which multiplies the clouds of Izumo. Inspired by the ancient culture of Izumo, we exclusively designed kites and a series of good luck symbols for the Saitama Branch of the Izumo Taisha. As symbols of prosperity and longevity, the "crane" and "turtle" were drawn as lucky motifs to celebrate the clouds of Izumo.
