Konno has been creating since 2015, participatory paintings (color inversion paintings) that are completed by the visitors who hold their own smartphones and other devices over them, as well as paintings (luminescent paintings) that glow in the dark or at night, which he has been creating since 2020. These are collectively defined as “nexus paintings” (Tohoku Culture and Art Society) and this is his first solo exhibition in Tokyo since then. In addition to the exhibited works, we will also display new expressions such as an original app developed for viewing the works, and sound performance. We will exhibit and sell about 15 paintings, as well as merchandise.
