I’ve been working as an actor for years, but today, my occupation officially became “Actor”. I was SAG eligible since 2017, but I didn’t join them until now. This was because major film/TV productions didn’t hire me as I was a visa holder, but didn’t have green card or citizenship, and I am still with my O1 visa. Many times, I was shortlisted for roles, yet they couldn’t hire me after I informed that I was with a visa. That is why I was trying to avoid joining SAG until I get green card. But last week, I got booked for a big opportunity. I simply wanted to take this chance! Yes, this is the time for me. The time when SAG-AFTRA is still on strike. So what? I’m with them for our future. Big opportunities are not coming to us too many times. Take it and just do it! I will keep working hard and put as much effort as I can to play roles no matter it is small or big.
