To increase immersiveness, 24 students were lucky enough to visit our Whitty Street Tram Depot! Let’s see how the students got to learn more about trams first hand!💁🏻‍♀️ 🚃 Guided Tram Tour: The students were assigned with a task to deliver a guided tour in groups.📝They carefully curated and conducted guided tram tours for their peers and teachers, embodying the role of tour guides.📣 This hands-on experience allowed them to craft and deliver insightful narratives, bringing theoretical knowledge with practical applications!🗣️ 💼 Career Talk: Students got the opportunity to communicate with representatives from different departments of HK Tramways, including Commercial & Brand, Tourism, Engineering and Operations! 【衷心感謝所有叮叮科創大賽 2023評審及嘉賓！】「叮叮科創大賽」完滿結束！再次感激多位評審、學者及業內人士，付出寶貴時間及專業知識與場內學生交流。讓我們重溫嘉賓的台上發言吧！💭💡 🌟主禮嘉賓立法會（教育界）朱國強議員：「參賽方案部分看似天馬行空，但跳出框框思考問題，宏觀地觀察事物，正正就是創意思維所需的特質，也是STEAM教育所提倡的精神。我期待不久將來，在乘搭電車過程中，親身體驗到同學的創意提案。」 🌟協辦單位香港科技大學的代表梁嘉樂博士：「電車身為一個有百多年歷史的基建，本身就是一個可持續發展的實例。同學的計劃書既要找到電車運作現有的痛點，又要考慮可行性，也要讓電車繼續可持續發展，實屬不易。」 🌟主辦單位叮叮科創的總經理張永恒先生：「STEM教育的發展日新月異，由加入藝術（Arts）變成STEAM，到現在擴展到STEAMS，新加的S（Social Service）代表應用創新科技回饋社會，解決社會民生切身的議題，而將來運用AI的能力亦會成為每一個人能力的分野。我很高興參賽同學都提出不少讓電車進步，達致可持續發展和智慧出行目標的方案，而有部分是切實可行的。」科創永不止步，請密切關注明年的新發展！🚀 【Thank You to all the BuilDING Our Future 2023 Judges and VIPs!】 A heartfelt thank you to our esteemed judges and distinguished VIPs for gracing us with your presence at the tramplus BuilDING Our Future Grand Challenge finale! 🙏🌟 🌟The Honorable Chu Kwok-keung, officiating guest of Honor and Legislative Council member representing the Education Constituency, said “Some proposals may sound imaginative. However, thinking out of box and view the issue in a broader context are essential for an innovative mindset and are the values STEAM education advocate. I fully expect I will experience the creative proposals when I ride on trams in the future.” 🌟Dr Jac Leung, representative from co-organiser HKUST, suggested “Tramways is an infrastructure with more than a century’s history. It is a paradigm of sustainable development. The students have to dig out the current operation concerns of HK Tramways, at the same time consider the feasibility and maintain the sustainable development of Tramways, which is not an easy task.” 🌟Mr Nixon Cheung, General Manager of tramplus, the event organizer, mentioned “STEM education develops very rapidly. From having an additional “A” (Arts) as STEAM, and reaching to “STEAMS” right now, the “S” that was added means social service, which represents applying innovative technology to resolve social issues. In the future, the ability to make use of AI would be a watershed of individual capability. I am glad to see so many practical proposals boosting sustainable development and smart mobility which ultimately enhance the service level of the HK Tramways.” The journey doesn’t end here.
