While acrylic gouache raises concerns about durability, its matte surface, density, and vivid color made it essential. To stabilize it, I applied a thin layer of matte medium and finished with a UV-protective matte varnish. I also layered custom-mixed acrylic pigments to avoid an overly uniform surface. These processes, I believe, help slow the fading of fluorescence. Every material has both strengths and limitations. There are also many operations that fall into a gray area. This time, I encountered a new type of scam. Fortunately, there was no financial damage. However, the method was extremely sophisticated. They claimed to represent a real, existing gallery. After several exchanges, we even held an online meeting. Individuals posing as the gallery owner and a local coordinator participated, speaking English with a European accent. As the process continued, I began to sense inconsistencies. When I questioned those points, suspicion turned into certainty. There were multiple decisive factors, but I will carefully consider how much to disclose. If everything is revealed, future scammers may simply adjust their tactics. At one point, I even found myself calmly wondering what kind of person was behind it all. When I first began my career, I unfortunately experienced many scams. That experience helped me avoid damage this time — although of course, it is possible to protect oneself without going through such experiences. The real gallery has also issued an official statement regarding this matter.
