  • I have many memories of visiting my grandmother in Hakone as a little kid, and we finally went as a family over birthday weekend! Kind of nostalgic but even better now that I can share with my kids. Hakone is famous for their hot springs- if you haven’t gone yet, you have to visit when you come to Japan. It’s a short train ride from town with breathtaking views of Mount Fuji if you’re lucky. Sit on the right side of the train! #Hakone

  • I can hardly believe that Skyler is already 4 years old! 🎂✨💕It feels like just yesterday he was a baby, but now he’s blossoming into a joyful little boy, full of smiles and love.   • Recently we had a discussion as a family about the differences between happiness and pleasure. They are actually completely different things. Pleasure is short lived, happiness lasts a long time. Pleasure is felt alone, happiness is felt shared. Pleasure is taking, happiness is giving. Pleasure is like dopamine, happiness is serotonin. Then we discussed what is giving us short bursts of dopamine in our lives. Sugar, gaming, social media, over eating… basically things you know you shouldn’t be doing. There is always a crash after the dopamine, so it makes you feel worse later. We realized that little pleasures throughout the day is actually making us less happy in the long run. We also discussed that the world we live in is so saturated with pleasure ideas. If pleasure is taking and happiness is giving, the capitalistic idealisms go against happiness. Why are we constantly fed what success looks like in the capitalistic paradigm, like money, huge houses, luxury, and power? Happiness comes from within and what we have or don’t have doesn’t have to define it. We discussed that we don’t have to seek out the little pleasures, but strive to be a better person, to achieve true happiness. What do you think about pleasure and happiness?

  • Good to sing with my brothers again!! M-flo will always have a special place in my heart. If they ever need me to sing, I’ll be there!! Yesterday was so special since it literally had been too many years ago that the original members (with @ryohei_yamamoto_official ) all got together and sang Miss You in Japan.
