  • Awich × KUNIKO Okinawan Women (Still She Lives) 本日で沖縄が日本に返還されて53年。 今年4月のKYOTOGRAPHIE開会式で披露したKUNIKO @___kuniko___ とのコラボレーションパフォーマンスが公開されました。 展示もあった写真家・石川真生さんの「アカバナ」にインスパイアされて、私自身の詩「Okinawan Women (Still She Lives) 」を朗読として捧げ、さらに沖縄民謡の中でもラップに近い表現である「口説（くどぅち）」をベースにしたオリジナル曲「いなぐんちゃー口説」を初披露しました。 着用しているドレスは、「Made in Occupied Japan」 @madeinoccupiedjapan の米軍払い下げパラシュートから仕立てられたもの。 歴史に翻弄されながらも、力強く生き抜いてきた沖縄の女性たちへの敬意を込めました。 これは音楽というよりも、祈りに近いもの。 戦後80年、沖縄復帰53年という節目に、あらためて沖縄の歴史や「平和」というものと向き合う機会になりますように。

This track is a piece of my soul, connecting Tokyo, Okinawa, and New York—created in collaboration with the legendary RZA and the voice of NY, Ferg. This wasn’t just a beat or verses sent through wires.
We entered the chamber—no scripts, no shortcuts.
Like monks and masters testing spirit, not just skill.
Taking this huge step, coming out of Okinawa, Japan, with two of the greatest in the world fills me with deep, deep gratitude. I want to see for myself how far I can truly go—breaking through countless doors and carving my own path where none existed.
I know in my heart that my journey can become the starting point for the next generation in Japan and across Asia.
