の店主に“大人はね、スカーフをカバンに忍ばせておいて誰かに会う時にサッと首に巻くんですよ。”なんて大人なエピソードトークをされました。 いやあ憧れてしまったんですよね、沼津の田舎もんがそんな粋な大人に。そしてこれからあるだろう新しい出会いに向けて。 今日はそんなお話。 スカーフのブランドはエルメスで2000年頃のもの。deadstockで新品ピンピン。首に巻いてもコシがあるというか、独特の艶とハリがあります。色も鮮やかで、こいつは一目惚れでした。 正直、エルメスなんて高貴なブランドには興味がなかった僕がつい手を出してしまったのは“質実剛健”なアイテムと店主が語ったロマンチックストーリーに弱いから。 質実といえば この日着ていた #burberry のコートやエルメスのスカーフは、フレンチアイビーには欠かせない歴史あるアイテム。「これ母が若い頃着ていたバーバリーのコートで…」と代々コートを受け継ぐ風習は、イギリスのみならず日本でもよく聞く話だ。 タグにあのモンサンミッシェルが描かれたブランド #saintjames のボーダーTも、THEおフランス代表な一品だろう。 そんなフランスには “エスプリ（遊び心）”と呼ばれる着こなしがある。食卓と同じように服で“マリアージュ”を楽しむのだ。産地で合わせることで統一感を生んだり、ずらして崩し（ハズシ）を作るなど、こだわりが強い。 僕は、この日バーバリーのコートに、エルメスのスカーフ、パンツはアメリカのリーバイス501、靴をクラークスで外す!! など実は無駄に色々と考えていた。 しかしながら、買ったは良いがこの日以来なかなかここぞのタイミングが見つからず “そのスカーフ可愛いですね” “実はエルメスで…ふふ” なんてやりとりは未だ想像、妄想？を越えていない。 スカーフはクタクタになるくらいまで巻き続けたら、もっと自分らしく着こなせるんだろうなあ…まあ焦らずゆっくりゆっくり一緒に歳を取っていけば良いか。 なんて、本音では無いが 粋な大人はきっと、そう言うだろう。 swipe→ 僕がこの数カ月で貯金を使い果たしてしまったのは、ぜんぶ雪のせいではなく、服のせいだと思う。 ゲレンデで雪に塗れた美少女が、こちらをグッと見つめる青春のワンシーンは、広告が生み出した幻だ。 幻といえば1943年に作られた、ROYAL NAVY(英国海軍)のショートダッフル。しかもSIZE 1のミントコンディション。 海外のvintage誌「Vintage Menswear」でも幻の名作として取り上げられており、70年前のアイテムがこの状態で現存しているなんて…もはやミュージアムピース。 よく一大決心をするときに、清水の舞台から飛び降りる覚悟で…なんていうが、清水ダイブを越えて清水ブレインバスターな1着だ。 そんな相棒に出会ったのは、それまで未開の地だった町田。 @jollygoodclothing でこのダッフルとの再会を果たす（3日前に、馴染みのお店 @beau_geste_daikanyama にならび初対面したが断念した）。 オーナーさんと1時間タラタラとうんちくを語り合い購入。連れて帰ろうと決めたのは「これ、いいウール使ってるなあ。ここの縫製もミシンの打ち込みがすごく細かいですよね…」の一言だった。 こういうのは、モノを買うが半分、心意気や体験を買うが半分だと思う。 このショートダッフルは、2020年AWに#アナトミカ がサンプリングしている。型や細部のディテールはvintageそのままだが、オーラがオリジナルvintageとはまったく違う。 オリジナルはクオリティも別格で、ピュアウール100%。 色は生成りとクリームの中間の様な、真っ白ではない”Raw”。表情も豊かだ。 ふっくらとしたショールカラーに、斜めについた木製のトグル、ループには海水に強い麻紐を使用するなど日常ではまったく機能しない過剰なスペックも、男心をくすぐる気遣いである。 さすが名作ミリタリー。恐れいる。 @eijikatano も、気絶悶絶爆破を超えて、宇宙だ。 ちなみに、水兵さんお馴染みの「ショールカラー」は強風の中で衿を立て周りの音を聞くために付いているらしい。 ほお。 没頭し、周りが見えなくなった時はこの衿を正し、誰かの意見に耳を傾けてみよう。 「すばる、最近買いすぎじゃない？」 「vintageばかりで、何がいいの？」 「服ばっかり買って、、結婚や貯金も考えなさいよ」 …。 ああ、耳が痛い。 僕は立てた衿を、そっと下ろした。 ジョリーグッド。 実に幸せで自分勝手な散財である。 coat 1943 royalnavy short duffle pants Office（英国の中央郵便局）の略で、正式名称は「British Postman Duffle Coat」。 1960年、70年代にイギリス国営の郵便員がこれを着用して街を闊歩していたという。また一説によると製造場所がRoyal NAVY（英国海軍）のコートと同じ場所で作られていたというのも人気の秘密。 #gpocoat #postmandufflecoat 「ミリタリージャケット」といえば、誰もがこのm65ジャケットを思い浮かべるはず。エポレットに大きな４つポケット。ボリュームのある立ち襟に、肩から腰へ逆三角に設計された背面… 服としても完成尽くされているアイテムで、今思えば、学生時代一番かっこいいと思っていた服が、「m65 jacket」だったかも。 初めてこのジャケットを見たのが、確か高校生。地元の沼津に唯一あったオシャレ路面店「ポールスミス 仲見世通り店」でサンプリングされたジャケットが置いてあり、欲しくて欲しくて何度も足を運んだ思い出が… 今日着ているのは、そんな憧れのジャケットの“2ndタイプ”。いまから50年くらい前に作られたvintageで、これはzipもアルミ製。現行の真鍮に比べると、洗練されている？ようにも見える（個人の意見だが）。 ちなみに、2ndタイプは1976年の映画Taxi Driverでロバート・デ・二ーロが演じる主人公「Travis Bickle」が着用したり、アル・パチーノが1973年の映画「セルピコ」で着用していたことからm65の中でも「名作」と言われるアイテム。 男らしさが溢れる1着。それを、綺麗目のホワイトリーバイスと、jmウェストンでスマートに。 たまには、イタリアやフランスのアイテムではなくアメリカ🇺🇸ものでかためて無骨に。ってのもアリかも。 swipe→ はーるよ〜遠き春よ〜…最近ユーミンが沁みる歳になりました。こんにちは、Today横山です。 去年の冬から買い溜めておいたコットン100（C100）の「一枚袖コート※」が、活躍する時期到来。ブランドは全て1970年代-80年代のvintageバーバリー。 @eijikatano ならぬ、気絶悶絶爆発だ。 今日着ているのは、2021ssで #アナトミカ がリリースした「oyster」の元ネタ。さらに、裏表共生地の「無双仕立て」。スペシャルvintageだ。 ※そもそも #一枚袖 ってなに？ という方に簡単に。 通常、洋服の袖（腕部分）は立体感?を出すために上部と脇下の下部で二枚の生地を貼り付けて筒を作る。対して一枚袖というのは一枚の布でぐるんと筒状に袖を作る。 一枚袖の良さは、コートやブルゾンなど一番アウターに着るものだと実感しやすい。肩に縫い目が無いので、ばさっと羽織れてスッキリするだけではなく、独特Aラインで、今っぽいシルエットを出すことができるのだー（パパーン）。 って、説明がなげえよー！！！って思われた方には、事後ですが、すみません笑。 ご存知の方には釈迦になんちゃらですが、実はこの「 #一枚袖 」のバーバリーというのが実はなかなかレア（らしい）。海外でバイヤーさんがvintageを買い付ける際に1,000枚のバーバリーのコートを見てやっと1枚見つけることができるかどうかレベル（だとか）。 （らしい）とか（だとか）ばかりですが、そこは信じることが掟だと言い聞かせている。百聞は一見に…とか言ってフランス/イギリスに飛び、現地に出向いて蚤の市やら、倉庫やらコレクターを回って…✈︎ ってそんな稼働工数を考えたら、信じた方が安いんじゃないか…なんて思ってしまう笑。 ねえ、 @yu_miiiiin @mitsuhokoga @kiuty_takupy 皆さんそうですよね？笑 なんでこんなに一枚袖にこだわるのか！ 今日、久々にデニムジャケットに袖を通した。LEVISのvintage「66前期-70505」という品番の4thジャケット。誰もが知る形、ファッションにおいて完成された名作だ。 しかし、ここにこだわりあり。 通称「66前期」と呼ばれるデニムは、1978年以前に生産されたもの。インディゴ感が強く、色落ちすると綺麗な青になる。 この年代までが“vintageデニム”と称され、境界線をまたぐかどうかで価値も変わる（たしか @kiuty_takupy が最近着ていたのが1つ前のBig Eのものだったはず。カッコよくて真似してしまった）。 そして、今後どんどんと値段が上がる。同時期のデニムパンツは、同じ色残りで10万越え。デニムジャケットはまだ3分の1程度で買えるので、早めに手に入れると良い。 まあ、そんなクソ食らえなウンチクは、置いておいて、少しデニムジャケットの思い出を書こうと思う。 あれは、14年前。 上京したての僕は、大学の「サークル新歓」に着ていく勝負服を横浜のルミネで新調した。 それが「アメリカンラグシー」のデニムジャケットだった。まっ紺のワンウォッシュ。まだ垢抜けない僕にぴったりな一着だった。 入学して間もない大学生にとって、「サークル新歓」は出会いの場だ。特に、最初の印象がその後のキャンパスライフに大きく影響をする。 （よし、ここで決めるぞ‼︎ ここで仲良くならなきゃ…）そう思いながら、僕は新歓の暖簾をくぐった。 しかし、謎の焦りからか空回り、大学ノリには馴染めず、連敗。いつしか新歓恐怖症に。 「APRIL77」のブラックスキニーパンツに、「ヒステリックグラマー」のTシャツをINし、ラグシーのデニムジャケットを羽織った渾身の一張羅も、ノリの良い上下シミ付きのスウェット野郎の前では、無力同然だと知った。 苦いビールを飲みながら、まだ馴染んでいないデニムジャケットが、とても窮屈だったのを覚えている。 と、この“青すぎる思い出”にオチはない。 1年前まで1万円以下で買えていた80-90年代 USA製のリーバイス 。最近deadstock（新品）は2万円〜、usedでも色残りが良いと1万5,000円〜と値段はじんわりと高騰している。 ああ、もっと早くに「マイサイズ」を買っておけば良かったなあー… 僕のサイズはウエスト31で、レングス（長さ）が29or30。数年前は少し探せば手に入ったが、最近ではなかなか見つけられない。数十年前のリーバイスは数に限りがあるわけで、マイサイズ（丈上げしなくて良い）があればシルエットも綺麗なまま履けるので、マストバイなのだ。 初めての方に少し経緯を説明すると、いまショップで販売されているもの（現行）と、ここで紹介するリーバイス（古着）とはモデル名が同じでもモノが違う。 1番有名な501という型でも、シルエットやデニムの生地感、着用した後の色落ち、その他細部のディテール（先後染め、糸の色、縫い方etc）…これらが違ってくる。ただ、その違いは「細かすぎて伝わらない」レベルだ。 写真で僕が履いているデニムは、550というモデルで90年代に作られたUSA製、後染めの黒、オリジナルのマイサイズ。たしかすでに廃盤。テーパードがかなり強く効いており、僕みたいにモモが太い人にはおすすめの1本だ。 この細かすぎて伝わらないポイントが、「ドヤ」のミソとも言える。 というのもこのディテールの違いは、デニムに顔を近づけて、もうデニムとキスするんじゃねえかってくらい寄らないとわからない。となると持ち手の「自己申告＝ドヤ」があって、初めて“効果を発動”するのである。 おそらくそのドヤのくだりは、こうだろう。 （友人）「へーそのデニムいい色だな、俺ちょうどデニム探してるんだよね。」 （僕）「きた！俺のターン！ 服好きの友人にドヤ発動！ 俺のデニムは501XXUSA製 swipe→ vintage というのは実におもしろい。そのおもしろさの1つに、新品の服にはない価値基準「見ない／見たことない」というものがある。 総じて言えば「珍しい」「探しても出てこない」と言う意味だが、またニュアンスが違うようにも感じる。 vintageはdeadstock（新品の状態で数十年残っているもの）以外は誰かの手に渡り着られている。そのため同じ種類の服でも前の持ち主の癖や、年代、生産国、生地や仕様によって服の“表情”がバラバラだったりする。 その組み合わせが無数であるためこの「見ない」が成立する。彼らは時にONLYONEな古着を「個体」などと呼び、何故このデザインなのか、このシワはなぜついたのかなど、その服に謎の仮説を立てたりする。服なのに、個体… 見ない。は、魔法の言葉で「かっこいい」や「合わせやすい」などの一般的な感覚を凌駕し、なんなら圧倒する。そしてその「見ない個体」を手に入れた時の高揚感は男性だけかもしれないが、たまらない。 @eijikatano アニTubeの アニキが言う「気絶」がそれである。 さらに、厄介なのがこの「見ない」と言う判断基準はアナログな上に、曖昧でその多くが個人の経験に依存している。大量生産、安定したクオリティ、すぐに情報が得られるデジタル時代だというのに… 僕みたいなvintageビギナーはより良い買い物をするために、YouTubeで情報を仕入れ、ネットで数年前のブログを読み漁り、情報武装をして買い物に繰り出す。そして、古着屋に着くなりマニュアルで培った自分の“物差し”で１品１品ラックを漁り、判断をしていくのだが… 店員さんの「それ、見ないっすよ」の一声で、メッキがはがれ丸腰に。 気づけばその店員の言葉の重み？に圧倒され、思考回路がショートし（…え、無いなら手に入れないと）というYES/NOを超えた判断軸を自分の中に生み出してしまう。あぁ…経験1年生な僕は、見てきた奴には勝てないのだ。 … 一枚袖を何枚も見てきたこの数ヶ月。今日写真で着ている一枚袖/強烈な玉虫色/C100（コットン100）/マイサイズ/状態バキバキ。これも言うなれば「見ない個体」。数千枚Burberryのコートを見て1枚見つかるかどうか。それくらい「見ない」らしい。 「○○無双」と付くものに、男子は心底弱い！笑。 呂布無双（三國無双）とか、国士無双（麻雀）とか…笑。 僕もその1人。普段からbarr vintageさんでは“横山無双”をかましてるわけですが、今回初売りの戦利品で #無双仕立て 60年代のc100。 @barr_tokyo thanx。 に出会いました笑。 musou c100…呪文みたいですが、珍しい笑。 この無双というのは、裏地にも表地と同じ生地を使い仕立てる手法。 2倍の生地を使うのでコストが跳ね上がり、現在の既製服ではほぼ見ない仕様らしい。しかもc100（コットン100）のバキバキmint…ゆえにキツく効いたAライン‼︎ しかも1960年代、いまから60年も前に仕立てた1着… ぬあ！アニ気絶 @eijikatano ‼︎ ぶは！
