作業工程や手の向きなど、シーンに合わせてこのミニライトを準備し、作業の精度を上げます。 ミニライトには、ミシンの純正オプションのものと、マグネット式で自由に付け替えられるものの2種類があります。 純正品のミニライトの長所は、取り付けに安定感があり、光量も多く、ミシンのスイッチに連動している。と言った点です。 短所としては、固定式なので少し可動域に制限があり、ピンポイントで光を当てたい場合にうまく届かない事があります。 マグネット式の外付けタイプは、ミシンスイッチと連動していないので、作業に一手間増えてしまいます。縫製工場ではスイッチと連動させるための改造を加えて使用します。 メリットとしては単価が安い事と、可動域が自由な事が挙げられます。 ◎汚れ落としガン 縫製工場が使用しているミシンは、もともと大量な油を循環させていました。 高速で上下運動を繰り返すミシンヘッドは熱を帯びやすく、常に油を差し続けて摩擦を軽減させる必要がありました。 その為、製品に油シミが付きやすく、常にこの汚れ落としが活躍していました。 現在では、技術の進化により、ドライヘッド、セミドライヘッドと呼ばれる、油を循環させないスタイルのミシンが主流になっており、このガンも使用される回数が減ってきています。 原理は、高速でナトリウム系の溶剤を発射し、生地に撃ち込む事で油を背面に押し出す構造です。 溶剤や落としきれなかった油分などが繊維に残らないように完全に吸い出す目的と、溶剤が乾燥していく過程で輪ジミを残さない為に、バキューム装置で吸引しています。 ミシン油以外のシミや汚れも同様の機構で取り除く事ができるので、今では汚れ取りとして活躍しています。 クリーニング屋さんでも、油シミの除去の為に使用しているところが多い様です。 ナトリウム溶剤を強力な力で噴射するので、人の肌や目等に当たると非常に危険なので、工場の作業機械の中でも取り扱いに厳重に注意を払う装置のひとつです。 . . . . . ◎ウレタンテープ 縫製工場の作業は、全てが手作業です。 縫製が上手な工場、下手な工場…といった評価もありますが、これはほとんどの場合、作業をしている職人さんの手作業の丁寧さと正確さ、それから職人さんの経験から出来上がる様々な補足装置から生まれてくる違いだと思います。 このウレタンテープは、立体的なウレタンに生地を添えて縫う事で、直線的な線を、フリーハンドではなく定規を当てた線の様に綺麗に縫い上げるためのガイドです。 生地なので強く押し当てようとしても、生地が折れ曲がってしまうので、あくまでもそっと添えるといった手加減が必要となります。 素材の硬さや厚みなどによって、縫い上がり線が変わってくるので、何度も何度も位置を微調整して貼り直します。 ミシンの付属部品として、縫い上がり位置をガイドする金属製のものがありますが、1/10ミリでの調整は、このウレタンテープが1番使い勝手が良いとして、工場内で多用されています。 ベテランの職人さんに、定規を使わす感覚だけでミリ単位の調整をしようとした場合、何ミリまで正確に合わせる事ができますか？ という質問をしてみました。 その答えは驚くべき事に、30mmまでは感覚だけでミリ単位を合わせる事ができるよ〜！という回答でした😱 その感覚を持ちながらも、より精度を上げるためにガイドをつけるといったいった集中力によって、形崩れせずに長く着れる、良い製品につながっていくのだと…改めて考えさせられました！ . . . . . そんな危険から身を守るために着用するのが「鎖手袋」です。これには様々な形状や素材のものがありますが、我々の工場ではステンレス製の鎖手袋を使用しています。 ステンレス製である理由は、まずは強度です。万が一手が巻き込まれてた際でも、火花が散りキックバックによって手を刃物から跳ね返して怪我の防止に役立つことです。 次に素材、ステンレス製であるため汗などが原因による錆が無く、錆が起きないということによって、生地に汚れが付くことを防いでくれます。 そして、万一の場合に作業中に鎖が欠落した場合でも、金属探知機に反応して発見できることから、製品の安全性を遵守できる素材が使用されています。 安全で精度の高い製品を作るという使命と、作業者の安全の確保。 ◎縫製に使う針「縫い針」 縫い針には種類が多く、裁縫を始める最初の段階で頭を悩ませるのが、どんな針を選んだら良いのか、ではないでしょうか？ 「縫い針」には大きく分けて「洋裁用」と「和裁針」の2種類があります。 洋裁針とは、針先が丸みを帯びています。これは、厚い生地でも縫えるようになっています。洋裁針には長針と短針の2種類ありますが、これはご自身の手に合った針を選ぶと良いでしょう。 和裁針とは、針先が鋭く尖っています。そして針自体が少したわんでいます。これは絹織物など織りの密度が高い生地に適した構造になっており、さらに手縫いのみで裁縫する設計になっているので、針のたわみで生地通りが良いようになっています。 そのため、厚い生地には太い針、薄い生地には細い針を選ぶ、あとはご自分の手にあったサイズの針を選ぶことが裁縫の上達への近道になるでしょう。 . . . . . ◎グラインダー これは裁ちバサミを研ぐのに使います。円盤状になっている部分は砥石になっており、そこに刃を当てて研ぎます。研ぐ角度がとても大切で、角度を保つガイドに合わせたり研いだ面を慎重に確認する必要があります。 砥石にも何種類かあり、ここでは3つ紹介します。 ・ディスク砥石 研磨剤を押し固めたもので、刃に対して程よく柔らかく研磨力が一定で鋭い刃を付けることができます。 ・ディスクバフ バフとは、細かい研磨剤が混ぜられた布や繊維状のものを何層にも重ねたものです。砥石でできたバリや、極小の傷を消して鏡面状に仕上げることができます。そうすることで刃の耐久度が上がり切れ味も一段と鋭利にすることができます。 ・ダイヤ砥石 ダイヤ砥石とは、鉄板に工業用ダイヤを電気や熱によって圧着させたものです。非常に硬く強力に研ぐことができます。研がれる速度も早いので、欠けた刃や形を修正する際に心強い砥石です。 . . . . .
