We believe that avoiding certain areas, reducing exposure of clothing, changing one's behavior, etc. is not a solution to eliminate harassment. Harassment is often talked about in terms of an adversarial structure between "a person who harassed" and "a person who was harassed," but the overwhelming majority of harassers are third parties who cannot act and are watching. Bystander intervention is one of the most effective ways to eliminate harassment and create an environment that does not tolerate harassment. This post explains how to intervene safely and effectively if you witness harassment. Being a sexual minority in today's world is really tough. It can make you feel incredibly vulnerable. Transgender people, especially trans women, also face exclusion and violence, and they don't get enough support from the government and legal systems. To achieve the society that feminism aims for, we need to understand intersectionality. This means recognizing that various forms of discrimination are interconnected. The situation of no public institutions on same-sex marriage being an "unconstitutional state" under Article 24, section 2 of the Constitution was a positive result toward marriage equality. The same lawsuits are also ongoing in Nagoya and Fukuoka. In Sapporo, the case is going to be held in the Sapporo High Court.
