The edge of night folds, a colorless torii becomes the start point like in a game. Only Amaterasu’s shadow runs off, forgotten in the drawing. When I whisper “I’m tired,” a tiny bodhisattva drops down upside-down from the air-conditioner gap and says, “I’ll forgive you today.” A hand—someone whose name I’ve forgotten— catches my collapsing back. Just a little more, just enough, and I press the start button again with the 37 trillion lights and sounds that make up who I am. But some nights, the ground feels like a bruised fruit, and the world shrinks into a soft halation. When I whisper “I’m tired,” a tiny Kannon slips through the sky’s seams. “Keep going.” “You can quit too.” “Come back.” Voices that aren’t me, yet live inside me. When I nearly fall, an unnamed hand supports my back— a warmth I somehow know. Just a little more. Just a little further. Because I’m walking with 37 trillion companions. Through the door’s gap, unregistered photons reach in, their joking voices clear as a sacred bell. “Just notice—prayer is reflection,” a distant face says. And suddenly salvation glows on its own inside me. The photons blink—pikon!—and chant, “Let’s go, this world! Let’s go, Pure Land!” Gravity loosens. 机の上の紙がほのかに光を反射している。 昼間とは違う顔をした白。 夜の静けさを吸い込んだように、深く、落ち着いた色だった。 ソファに腰を下ろし、天井を見上げる。 一日が静かに折りたたまれていく。 焦りも、期待も、静かに力を失っていく。 カーテンの隙間から、一番星がのぞく。 その小さな光に、誰のためでもなく心が動く。 “また描こう”と心の奥で呟く。 それが祈りなのか、惰性なのかはもう分からない。
