Bvlgari’s creative process mirrored that of a painter choosing pigments on his palette, where what mattered most was the artistic effect and the final chromatic harmony, rather than the intrinsic value of the individual stones. Beginning in the 18th and 19th centuries, scientists started to analyze the rich spectrum of colors we perceive and sought to understand our physiological reactions to them. From this study, the three “primary” colors—red, yellow and blue—were defined. This first chapter begins with a space dedicated to the so-called “primary” colors, which are of paramount importance in the world of jewelry, as they refer to some of the most cherished materials by collectors, such as the red of rubies🔴, the yellow of gold🟡, and the blue of sapphires🔵. ＼#時代のプリズム展示されている作品をご紹介！👀／曽根裕《19番目の彼女の足》（1993）は、彼の代表作のひとつとして知られる作品です。自転車のパーツを分解したような「Tool（道具）」と呼ばれるユニットは、1つでは自転車として機能しません。けれど、2つ以上を連結すると走り出すことができます。ただし、それは簡単なことではありません。前後の人が車輪を共有するため、一人では進むことも止まることもできず、必ず他者との協調や駆け引きが必要になるのです。曽根はこの発想を「ムカデはどうやってたくさんの足を動かしているのか？」という素朴な疑問から得たといいます。ボールジョイントで自在に連結できる「Tool」は、さまざまな形に変形可能で、19台をつなげば20メートルの長さにもなるそうです。うまくいくときもあれば、摩擦が生まれることもある──《19番目の彼女の足》は、人と人のコミュニケーションの難しさと可能性を、ユーモラスに可視化した作品です。　　時代のプリズム：日本で生まれた美術表現 1989-2010 📍国立新美術館 🗓 2025年9月3日（水）～12月 8日（月）　　 Prism of the Real: What will you find in the gallery 🔍👀？ Hiroshi Sone’s The Foot of the Nineteenth Girl (1993) is one of his iconic early works. At first glance, each unit—called a “Tool”—looks like a piece of a bicycle: a wheel, a pedal, a saddle, and a handle. But on its own, it doesn’t function as a bike. Only when two or more are connected can it start to move. And yet, riding it is no simple task. Because the wheel is shared, no one can fully control the motion alone. Progress and direction depend on communication—sometimes smooth, sometimes full of friction—between the people riding together. The idea came from a simple question Sone once asked himself: How does a centipede manage to move all those legs at once? With ball joints connecting the Tools, they can be arranged in many different forms, and linking all 19 of them stretches the piece to a full 20 meters. ＼閉幕までまもなく！12/8まで #時代のプリズム🔍／〈レンズ3：コミュニティの持つ未来〉 1990年代、アーティストたちは、人と人との関係性や、私たちが生きる社会という環境そのものを改めて見つめ直し始めました。日本でも、この新しい動きはしばしば美術館の外で芽を出し、地域のコミュニティを土台にした自主的なプロジェクトが多数生まれ、現代美術を観客へと開いていきます。その後は、国内外のアーティストが集う大規模な展覧会が開催され、広いネットワークが築かれ、地域そのものが変化していきました。アーティストたちは国境を越えてコレクティヴを組み、公的空間でのゲリラ的な介入を行うことで、現代社会や国家の神話を批評的に、そしてどこか遊び心をもって暴き出していきます。同時に、コミュニティへの関わりそのものを制作プロセスに取り込む作家も多く現れました。こうしたアプローチは、「つながる」という価値が新しい表現をひらき、既存のヒエラルキーを小さくても確かなかたちで揺るがすことができる──その可能性を示しています。　　　時代のプリズム：日本で生まれた美術表現 1989-2010 📍国立新美術館 🗓 2025年9月3日（水）～12月 8日（月）　　 Prism of the Real: What will you find in the gallery 🔍👀？ Lens 3: The Future Shaped by Community In the 1990s, artists around the world began rethinking how people relate to one another and the social environments they inhabit. In Japan, this new direction often emerged outside museums, through community-driven, self-initiated projects that opened contemporary art to wider audiences. Over time, ambitious exhibitions brought together artists from Japan and abroad, building expansive networks and transforming local communities. Artists also formed transnational collectives and staged guerrilla-style actions in public space—critical yet playful interventions that exposed the myths of contemporary society and the nation-state. At the same time, many artists wove community engagement directly into their creative process. ＼もっと知りたい！#時代のプリズム🔍／日本の公共空間に介入するアートは、戦後アヴァンギャルドを起点に広がってきました。具体の野外展、ネオ・ダダの路上介入、ハイレッド・センター、ザ・プレイなど、アートと日常の境界を揺さぶる試みが続きます。この流れは90年代にも受け継がれ、「ザ・ギンブラート」（1993）や「新宿少年アート」（1994）へとつながりました。これらを先導した中村政人、村上隆、小沢剛らが、後のネオ・ポップの代表格となります。当時の東京では実験的な作品を展示できる場が少なく、さらに中原浩大、ヤノベケンジ、マルチメディア・コレクティヴのダムタイプなど、関西圏の同輩たちが東京で人気を集めていたことも、若手の焦燥をいっそう高めました。バブル崩壊後の不安のなかで、作家たちは都市へと踏み出し、街そのものを舞台に新たな行動を生み出していきます。「大阪ミキサー計画」（1992）では、《清掃イベント》の再演を通じて都市のブランド文化を批評。「ザ・ギンブラート」では銀座全体を横断しながらゲリラ的介入が展開され、「新宿少年アート」では歌舞伎町で法律や制度に挑むアクションが広がりました。インターネット以前、路上はアーティストが出会い、情報を交わし、現実に応答する“生きた場”。90年代の介入は、日本のアートが持つ流動的な創造性を象徴する出来事として、今も鮮やかに響き続けています。　　時代のプリズム：日本で生まれた美術表現 1989-2010 📍国立新美術館 🗓 2025年9月3日（水）～12月 8日（月）　　 Artistic interventions in Japan’s public spaces trace their roots to the postwar avant-garde. From Gutai’s outdoor exhibitions to Neo-Dada’s street actions, Hi-Red Center, and The Play, artists continued to blur the line between art and everyday life. This spirit carried into the 1990s with projects such as "The Ginburart" (1993) and "Shinjuku Shonen Art" (1994). Led by Nakamura Masato, Murakami Takashi, and Ozawa Tsuyoshi, these actions helped shape what would later be known as Neo-Pop. At the time, Tokyo offered few venues for experimental work, while Kansai-based peers—Nakahara Kodai, Yanobe Kenji, and Dumb Type—were gaining visibility. In the uncertainty following the bubble collapse, young artists turned to the city itself and began creating work directly in the streets. The Osaka "Mixer Project" (1992) reenacted Hi-Red Center’s "Cleaning Event" as a critique of commercialized urban space. "The Ginburart" brought guerrilla interventions across Ginza, and "Shinjuku Shonen Art" staged actions in Kabukicho that challenged laws and institutional rules. Before the internet reshaped social life, the street was a living space—where artists met, exchanged ideas, and responded to shifting realities.
