to appear everywhere, as glistening snow melts and drips from the eaves, framed by cherry blossom buds about to burst. In spring, this place is a hidden gem that becomes lush with blooming cherry blossoms. From around mid-April, you can enjoy the Somei-Yoshino cherry blossoms that cover the entire front garden, and in early May, the double-flowered “Yaezakura” cherry blossoms against the backdrop of Mount Akagi. Spectacular views of Isozaki's architecture are also offered by way of the neighboring Ikaho Green Bokujo's famed “Sea of Sakura” (Haruna Unkai Sakura). Nearby is Ikaho Onsen, a famed hot spring resort since olden days, a mere five-minute drive away, or about two hours from Tokyo by Shinkansen. Beautiful sounds seem to be leaking from Gallery A, as if from a sound sculpture being set up. It must be from Janet Cardiff's sound installation, “Motet for Forty Voices,” a special exhibit that opens with the exhibition "This Temporal Art Called Hara Museum ARC” on March 15. This special exhibit, which runs until May 11, presents a sublime amalgamation of 40 voices within a space naturally illuminated from the gallery's overhead skylight. On March 23, we will be hosting a talk by the artist who will be visiting Japan. Those in attendance will also be able to join a small party with the artist afterwards. A rare event not to be missed!
