Kakinoki means persimmon tree in Japanese and the request was to design something related to persimmon. I received the pictures of the village and I was astonished how beautiful the village was. I decided to pick up several symbolic items to express the village. I have always loved traveling but it felt so special to travel alone in new places after a long pause! Thank you Jussi and Aila for the opportunity! Thanks to Chiharu, the owner of minagarten in Hiroshima, I’m participating in a peace project related to Hiroshima. Several artists from all over the world are designing a tapestry / shawl inspired by peace. Textile pieces will be produced at the ecological Alpaca farm in England and will be exhibited in different parts of the world. Anila is the owner of the Alpaca farm and studio asked me if I wanted to come to stay with them and make samples of the design. I’m glad that I took the chance and flew to England!
