To see the story unfold right in front of your eyes. Even though I am in Tokyo all I literally see before me are the rolling hills and starlit sky of my beloved Waimea. All I’ve ever strived to do while dancing is to connect to the story and music the best way I know how. To transcend time and space has always been the goal. THEN!!!!! To be able to do that with the composer himself Kaipo Hale, and his best friend Robert Cazimero that was with him when this mele came to be, AND for us all to be in tears just remembering the beautiful experiences life has given us, was something I will cherish for the rest of my life. Thank you Japan for gifting these moments to me. For without you, I would not be here. A moment I will never forget. Mahaaaalo. @emiri_taniuchi 先生何があってもついて来てくれて、僕をどんな時にも信じてくれてありがとうね。関西エリアの指導者クラスは何年もずっと大変な事ばかりでしたけど今は幸せしかない。 KAOKA関西と東北の先生達、ハーラウの皆、Hula-Meの皆、そして今からHula-Meの先生達も含めて、皆がいるから僕は先生としていられるんです。こんな最高な毎日の人生をくれて本当にありがとう。これからも愛たっぷりの厳しさで支えていくからこれからもよろしくね！

コロナ禍にスタートしたシンプルなものが日本一のオンラインHulaスクールになり、日本全国からはもちろんの事、韓国、中国、ベトナム、フランス、ドイツ、アメリア、世界からのLehuaメンバーと色んなチャレンジをしてきました。周りから、分かりにくい、オンラインだからちゃんとしたスキルは手に入れない、対面じゃないと本物のHulaにならない、さまざまなことを言われてきましたが全て、全てが可能になって見せました。初めてお互い会っているのに、初めましてだよ！なのに、毎週会って練習しているHulaスクールと同じ、いや、もっとお互い合わせられる、気持ちと形も両方が揃えているHulaを毎回数分で合わせられている。世界が無理、不可能と思っていることを、僕達は可能にしている。 Hula-Meは他の人に頼って上手くなる場所ではない！一人一人が言い訳なしで自分と向き合って、そして強くなって、自分の周りの皆のために動けるようになる、ハッピーを与えるようになる、自分自身を愛せるようになる場所です。 Hulaは心の言語である、ならば、なんでほとんどのHulaダンサーは自分の心の支えを忘れているのか？なんで形ばかりを考えているのか？まず自分からスタートしないと何も出来ないし、夢は叶わないよ！来年にはこの動画にいる指導者達を含め何千人に渡って、日本中に光をばら撒きます！本物のHulaは自分から始まるんだ。 Me Ke Aloha, Kalani

昨日のMahalo Dinnerに来て下さった先生方の一人一人に感謝しかありません。本当にありがとうございました。私達を繋いでくれているのはHULA. 全然お互い話したことがない先生。久しぶりにお会いする先生。様々な年齢の先生。それぞれのフラの道が違うけれど, 昨日は皆が同じ場所で、仲良く、楽しく、食べて、飲んで、歌って、踊って、本当に幸せだった。特別ななにかが動いた気がします。僕達オキナカラニを信頼してくれて本当に感謝しかありません。まだまだ不完全な僕達ではありますし、学ばなきゃいけない事だらけだけど、先生達を心から理解しそしてそれぞれの生徒達と一緒にハワイの愛をいっぱい感じられる大会やイベントをこれからも一生懸命に作っていきます。僕達の愛する生徒達のためにこれからも力を合わせて新しいフラの未来を作ろうね！ Mahalo palena ‘ole, Kina and Kalani
