昨年に引き続き渋谷ショールーム併設の「さんちギャラリー」に刺繍アクセサリーブランド「000（トリプル・オゥ）」さんが出展されます。 ■000（トリプル・オゥ） 群馬県桐生市の明治10年（1877年）創業の老舗刺繍メーカー「笠盛」が立ち上げたアクセサリーブランド。軽くてしなやかな、糸でつくられる刺繍アクセサリーを展開。 「000（トリプル・オゥ）」は、デザイナー・片倉洋一さんが自社企画として立ち上げたブランドです。 片倉さんは大学で人間工学やシステムデザイン、英国でテキスタイル・デザインを学んだのち、ヨーロッパでテキスタイルや刺繍のデザインに携わり帰国。 2005年にヨーロッパでの経験を活かすことができる刺繍メーカー「笠盛」へ入社され、2010年に自社企画として「000」を立ち上げられました。 ブランド名の「000（トリプル・オゥ）」は、これまで積み上げてきた日本における刺繍の伝統を大切にしながらも、既成概念にとらわれず「0」から自由な発想でアクセサリーを作りたいという思いから名づけられたそう。 “緻密なプログラミング“と、“職人の手仕事“を組みわせた「立体刺繍」で、使う人にやさしく、こだわりのつまったアクセサリーを生み出されています。 「華山1914文化創意産業圏」は、日本統治時代の清酒工場跡地にあります。 產業建築技術に関する博物館を経て、1999年以降はアート、各種イベント会場として注目されるようになり、数多くのレストランやアートギャラリー、ショップが出展。 現在では台湾のアートカルチャー発信地として地元の方にも観光客にも人気エリアとなっています。 主だった建物は1914（大正3）年に創建されたものなのですが、再開発ともリノベーションとも少し異なる趣を持っています。 產業建築技術に関する博物館でもあったことから、当時のまま残されている箇所も多く、もとのデザインや構造を活かす形で現代的な装飾や案内看板などが加わり、過去と現在、未来を行き来しているようななんとも不思議な感覚を味わうことができます。 工場らしい大きな空間を生かした展示ホールやショップもあれば、工場と事務所をつなぐ屋根付きの通路はアーケードのようで、工場裏へ一歩足を踏み入れると細い通路は謎めいた雰囲気で思わず散策したくなり、さまざまな方面から建物を楽しむことができます。 古いものをただそのままにしておくのではなく、その歴史や背景を踏まえながら広く知ってもらえるような工夫を施す。 次世代に継承していくためのアイデアやエネルギーに溢れています。 歴史や伝統を大切に現代へつなぐこのような施設でPOPUPを開催させていただき、本当にすばらしい機会となりました。 台湾での新たな出会いや経験をこれからの活動やものづくりにも活かすことができればと思っています。
