The exhibition will be held from March 14 to May 31, 2026, at CREATIVE MUSEUM TOKYO in Kyobashi, Tokyo. The Tokyo exhibition will showcase Sorayama’s very first robot painting, created in 1978 for a whisky advertisement, alongside his wide ranging explorations of robotic forms such as dinosaurs and unicorns. Highlights include the original design drawings for AIBO, the entertainment robot dog he designed for Sony, the iconic Aerosmith album cover artwork, as well as his newest sculptural works and an immersive digital installation. This exhibition offers a rare opportunity to experience, on an impressive scale, the very essence of Sorayama’s lifelong pursuit: the expression of light, reflection and transparency. 弊社代表であり、経営者、アーティスト、そして純粋なアートラバーとして歩み続けてきた遠山さんが、1980年代から今日まで美術と共に歩んできた軌跡を紹介する本展。 会場内にはその歩みを象徴する21作家・38点のプライベートコレクション（非売）に加え、注目する若手3作家・11点の作品（販売）も合わせて展示されている。 ウソのない"好き”が詰め込まれた豊かな空間。 Due to the large number of works on display, I couldn’t feature them all, so I’ve included pieces that left a strong impression—taking into account the quality and appeal of the booths themselves. This marks the 14th edition of this contemporary painting competition. Known as a “gateway to success for emerging artists of all ages and affiliations,” the exhibition showcases selected and award-winning works from submissions received nationwide, and features an Audience Award determined by visitor votes. Additionally, a new section titled “The Future of Painting” has been added to the third-floor exhibition room for this edition. It features artists who won the “Grand Prix” and “Excellence Award” at the previous FACE exhibition, showcasing 5 to 10 of their new or recent works each. I voted for one of the works on display. This exhibition featured her series of magical ceramic items. The concept for this display originated a year ago when she visited a museum in Zurich. Seeing ancient daggers and artifacts displayed like specimens, she suddenly thought it would be fascinating if, somewhere in the distant future, a magical wand unearthed as an artifact were exhibited. The ceramic pieces were intriguing works even when viewed individually. This museum is a collaboration between artist Lee Ufan and architect Tadao Ando. It is a museum where the architecture, with its gentle connection between outside and inside, and the artworks composed of minimal elements are deeply intertwined.Inside the partially underground structure designed by architect Tadao Ando, paintings and sculptures by Lee Ufan from the 1970s to the present are displayed. This marks Ando's tenth art facility on Naoshima, following his designs for the Benesse House Museum and Chichu Art Museum. The building comprises two basement levels and one above-ground floor. Its interior features a striking three-story atrium highlighting contrasts of light and shadow, housing four galleries and a café. The stairwell, flooded with natural light from a skylight, is particularly beautiful. The exterior walls are finished in black plaster, echoing the charred cedar siding seen in local villages, while the outer walls feature a design inspired by the stone-piled walls of Honmura's traditional houses. On clear days, the outdoor terrace offers a superb location with sweeping views of the magnificent Seto Inland Sea. It was a magnificent piece of architecture where Tadao Ando's aesthetic sensibility shone through in every detail.
