その美貌や振る舞いなどが里のものたちの憧れになり慕われていたものの……源経基との子を逢わせてやりたいと願う。（この辺りのお話は3つ前の投稿、展示作品・其ノ壱をご覧下さい💁♀️※丸投げ） その為には金が必要と考え、夜になると変装して妖術を使い、次第に悪事を重ねるようになっていく紅葉。 その噂を聞きつけた盗賊が「自分の手下になれ」と迫ってきたが、妖術で屈折させ配下とした。 徐々に盗賊を手なずけ頭となり金品を強奪し、人を殺す恐ろしい鬼へと化していく。 そんな紅葉を成敗すべしと、京の都から討伐隊が送られ…… — さて、呪いの術を使ったことで京の都を追放された紅葉。 村では、紅葉を不憫に思った村人たちが親切に世話をした。 紅葉も村人の病を治すなどして、しばらくは平和な日々が流れた。 しかし、都の暮らしに慣れている紅葉は山暮らしに満足せず、夜中に強盗を働くように…… そして荒くれ者の盗賊団を手下にし、ますます悪事を働くようになった紅葉は、人を喰らい生き血をすする鬼と化してしまった。 【人を喰らう鬼女の噂を聞いた天皇が征伐に乗り出す】 人喰い鬼女の噂を聞きつけた京都の冷泉天皇(れいぜいてんのう)は、紅葉征伐のため平維茂(たいらのこれもち)を信州へと送り込む。 最初は、紅葉が操る妖術に歯が立たなかった平維茂。 そこで、神仏の力にすがろうと別所北観音に17日間参籠し、必勝祈願をしたところ、ある日夢枕に立った白髪の老僧に「降魔の剣」を授かる。 今度こそ！と紅葉と戦った維茂は、剣の力で妖術を破り紅葉の征伐に成功。 紅葉33歳。 山々が見事な紅葉に染まる晩秋のことだった — ～終わりに～ 【昔も今も妖しくたくましい鬼女に魅せられる】 大創作展示会 iMAGINE2／展示作品・其ノ壱 －From Conceptual Photo Exhibition｢iMAGINE 2｣－ 【鬼女紅葉伝説】より －The Story of Kijo-Momiji－ ～初めに～ ［信州戸隠に伝わる美しい鬼女伝説］ 長野県の、戸隠・鬼無里・別所温泉などの地域に伝わる、鬼女の言い伝え「紅葉伝説」 諸説ありますが、大筋は「信州の戸隠山には鬼女がいて、夜な夜な村を襲い人々が困り果てていたところ、平安時代中期の武将・平維茂（たいらのこれもち）が、苦労をしつつも最後には見事退治をした」というお話。 時の武将も一目で惑わされた……というほどの美貌の鬼女。 その名前は「紅葉（もみじ）」能や歌舞伎では「紅葉狩り」という演目でもおなじみです。 その中でポピュラーな『鬼女・紅葉伝説』を。 今は昔、平安時代の頃 — 子どもができない夫婦が、第六天の魔王（仏教において修行を妨げる魔王）に願いを捧げ、女児を授かる。 「呉葉（くれは）｣と名付けられた女の子は成長するにつけ、その美貌と知性の高さで広く知られるようになった。 そんな呉葉の評判を聞き、ぜひに嫁に欲しいと、金持ちの息子が望む。 しかし縁談に乗り気ではない呉葉は、秘術により分身の美女を生み出し自分の身代わりとして、両親と共に京の都へと逃走する。 【美貌で源経基の寵愛を受けた紅葉】 京で両親は小間物屋を営み、呉葉は「紅葉」と名を変え、琴を教えることで生計を立てていた。 ある日、通りがかりに紅葉の奏でる琴の音色に惹かれた源経基。 琴の腕前と抜きん出た美貌を持つ紅葉に惹かれ屋敷に呼び寄せる。 日々、寵愛を受けた紅葉は経基の子を妊娠。 それと同時に、経基の奥方は体調が悪くなり 「夜中に『鬼』が襲ってくる」……と訴えるように。。。 【奥方の病は紅葉の呪詛のせい】 困った経基は、比叡山の高僧に相談したところ、奥方の病は紅葉の呪詛であることが発覚。 源経基は、妊娠中の紅葉を殺すことはできず、信州戸隠に追放。 — そして追放された紅葉は、鬼女と化していく…… 《其ノ二へ続く》 ( ´-`
