かつて親友が行ったという情報だけで、私も行ってみようと思った屋久島は、困難をかかえたお猿や鹿たちがそのパーソナリティを生かしあって支え合う真の共生社会を確立していて、それらを目の当たりにしてあらためて共存、共生の大いなる何かを肌で感じたのでした。 出逢えたいきものたち、屋久島に、心から感謝です。 この目の前の風景のためにできる事、人間として間違えないように暮らしていきたいです。 かつて阪神大震災の朝、一番初めに思ったのが、 「音がしない」ということでした。 生命とは何か、ずっと考えてきて、生き物たちの持つ音、生活音や声、鼓動、生きているとたくさんの音を出すのも生命で、もしかしたら私達の耳には聴こえない周波数の音も合わせると、宇宙はにぎやかに音を立ててざわざわしているのかもしれません。 今回の展覧会では、ずっと考えていた事の一つを実現します、木彫りを作る過程で出る美しい音たち、木が別の生命に生まれ変わる最中の音を使って、音楽を作ってもらい、それを会場で聴きながら展覧会をまわれるというもので、もちろんさわることもできるので、五感を使う展覧会となったらいいな。 オープニングでは、ラッコのキラちゃんをライブ彫刻する音と、音楽家のかたがたとの音楽会を開催します。 もともと宇宙物理学が大好きなわたしは、惑星に乗った猫の彫刻を彫って、金津さんの作ったランプとコラボさせてもらったのが去年のこと、そしたらこれをオーナメントにしたい！と言ってくれて、この宇宙のモビールが完成しました。 巣巣さんでのコラボレーション制作は、いつも、2度と作れない貴重なもの。 ご予約制で本当に丁寧に見ていただけますので、ぜひ実際の宙を体験しにきてください！抽選販売制です。 幻だったのか、私は確かに野生の川鵜のモヒートと先週出逢って、彫刻にしようと決意して、彫り始めたその日の夕方、あまりにも美しいモヒートの姿がそのままに、川の中で旅だった姿を私に見せてくれました。 昨年末のカヤネズミのカジくんの時にも感じた、彫るべくして彫らせてもらっている感覚、生き物たちが生命を捧げてくれているのではないかというような瞬間にまた立ちあって、翌朝雨の中泣きながらモヒートをスケッチし、彫刻にしました。長い雨が明けた昨日の夕方、川にはモヒートの姿は跡形もなく、幻だったのかと思うほどの不思議な一週間で。
