  • Reflecting on this past year with gratitude. 1. Being inducted into the @usfigureskating Hall of Fame with @maiashibutani in our first year on the ballot was an absolute honor. Another milestone in skating and in our @shibsibs partnership which continues to be the greatest gift in my life. 2. Amazing: Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders Who Inspire Us All was released in April (our third book so far). So much thought, care, and hope went into the creation of this book - a book highlighting the stories and contributions of AAPIs both past and present. Stories for everyone, but specially presented to the next generation. Thank you to @albertbrooklyn, @jennybackpack, @opal_roenchai, @daneliuwrites, @aaliyamj, and the team at @penguinkids for your hard work and partnership. And special thanks to the organizations, companies, and individuals who have advocated for, amplified, and partnered with us to give #AmazingAAPI such a successful launch. It has been humbling to see the impact that this book is already making. 📚 3. The beginning of a new chapter. Artist headshots by @manfredbaumann for my debut photography exhibition at @leicagalleryla. Much love to @paris.chong, @kiran.karnani and my @leicacamerausa/@leica_camera_japan family. 🙏 4. !!! A Japanese American in Japan, my debut exhibition. Thank you to everyone who came to opening night. Already working on the next one. 5. Our 2018 Olympic Free Dance “Paradise” costumes were placed on display at the @olympicmuseum in Lausanne, Switzerland. Incredible to visit and be surrounded by such inspiring history, emotion, and human achievement. 6. Another year, another step closer to the 2028 Olympic & Paralympic Games in Los Angeles, California. 💪 @la28games @janet_evans 7. I took more photos this year than in any other. Life is busy and 2024 will be busier, but one of my goals is to be better about sharing my work. 📸 @shotsbyshibs 8. Photographed my @teamusa teammates at Paris 2024 Promos.   • In November, I worked on set at Universal Studios as a photographer for @teamusa and @nbcolympics’ Paris 2024 Promos. It was a tremendous privilege to photograph 60 of the greatest athletes in the world at this unique moment as they look ahead to the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Their collective spirit, confidence, gratitude, and professionalism was so affirming to see and I know that they will inspire millions on their journeys. Having participated in these pre-Games shoots as an athlete, I brought that perspective and experience to the way I approached my work. These are some of my favorite images that I captured during the week. I’m so grateful for the support and trust that was extended to me by the USOPC. Working with people who believe in athletes and the power of the Olympic and Paralympic Movements was incredibly energizing. Congratulations to the teams at @teamusa and @nbcolympics for what was certainly the best Promos shoot to date - the bar has been raised! I took some photos of Jeffrey before he headed off to the 2023 Academy Museum Gala (@academymuseum) on Sunday. Suited up in @giorgioarmani, keeping time with @omega, and celebrating with @unclenearest. 🥃 Make sure to see his latest work — Jeffrey stars and shines as Thelonious “Monk” Ellison in, “American Fiction.” @americanfictionmovie is both a hilarious satire and moving family drama directed by Cord Jefferson. I saw the film the other night and absolutely loved it. It will receive a limited theatrical release in the U.S. on December 15 and will expand wider on December 22.
