championships shoes ディテール⑤ ソール底面はあえてシンプルにクラシックに製作しました。 前回大会ではウエストの底面にアッパーを回り込ませソールの存在を無くすという手法を取りましたが、二度同じことをやっても仕方ないので、今大会では革靴のソールの持つ本来の美しさ最大限引き出すように丁寧に製作しました。 また新たな意匠として、前大会にて採用した馬蹄形ヒール抽象化し、真鍮の埋め込みという形で表現しています。 またアゴ形状(ヒール前方)の特徴的なラインや真鍮釘の飾りなどは、過去19世紀に行われた靴競技へ敬意を表しオマージュしています。 クラシックかつシンプルだからこそできる美しさと、歴史に基づいたデザインを意識して製作しました。 World Championships Shoes Detail ⑤ The bottom of the sole was deliberately crafted to be simple and classic. In the previous competition, I extended the upper around the waist area of the outsole to visually eliminate the presence of the sole, but there was no point in repeating the same concept twice. So, for this competition, I focused on bringing out the inherent beauty of a traditional leather shoe sole through meticulous craftsmanship. As a new design element, I reinterpreted the horseshoe-shaped heel from the last competition into an abstract form, embedding it in brass. The distinctive shape of the heel breast and the decorative brass nails pay homage to the shoe-making competitions held in the 19th century. I aimed for a design that captures beauty through classic simplicity and reflects a deep respect for shoemaking history.2025/07/19に公開- 指定なし3.71%7886World Championships shoes Detail ディテール④ アッパーのステッチ解説に続いてソールのディテール紹介です。 この靴のソールは ・2段ウェルト ・ハーフミッドソール(前方のみダブルソール) ・ベヴェルドウェスト という特徴を持ちます。 通常2段ウェルトやハーフミッドソールはカジュアルやゴツい靴に用いられる場合が多いですが、この靴では2段ウェルトの装飾性に着目し、それをドレススタイルに中に凝縮することを目標としました。 異なるピッチで縫われたウェルトが二段見えることで、装飾的で華やかな印象を与えること狙っています。(spi14 & spi20) コバがその分張り出しすぎないよう製作しています。 また横から見た際 絞り込まれたウエストに繋がるソールのラインが、通常よりも極端にせり上がる曲線になっていることも、この靴が持つメリハリ感に影響与えています。 これは前方がダブルソールになっていることによるソールの厚みの差によって生まれるものです。 ウエストはシンプルでクリーンに製作 Detail 4 Following the explanation of the upper stitching, here is an introduction to the sole details. The sole of this shoe features: * Double-layered welt * Half midsole (double sole only in the forefoot) * Beveled waist Normally, double welts and half midsoles are used in more casual or rugged footwear. However, with this shoe, the focus was placed on the decorative potential of the double welt, aiming to integrate that ornamentation into a refined dress style. By showing two welts stitched at different pitches (spi 14 & spi 20), the design creates a rich and decorative impression. Care was taken during construction to ensure the welt edge does not protrude excessively. Additionally, when viewed from the side, the line of the sole flowing into the narrowed waist forms a dramatically rising curve, which contributes to the sharp visual contrast of the shoe. This curved line is a result of the thickness difference created by the double sole in the forefoot area. This is a hand-braided stitch running from the outer counter to the inner long vamp line. The stitch is placed along a seam line—but instead of leaving the leather edges exposed, the braiding conceals them completely. Not only does this add a touch of elegance, but it also creates a visual illusion, making the upper construction appear mysterious at first glance. This time, it’s the stitching on the toe cap. It features four rows of stitching, with each thread perfectly offset from its neighbor. The sewing was done using a hand-cranked machine, finely adjusted by hand. By ensuring that the needle holes don’t overlap, the rows can be stitched more tightly and precisely. However, the overall design has been sharpened and meticulously refined. One highlight is the stitching. A burgundy thread—brighter and more vibrant than the leather itself—has been used, incorporating three distinct stitching techniques. This post focuses on the stitching from the top line to the buckle. A new hand-stitching method was used: decorative thread is woven into a double stitch where each thread alternates in placement, creating a unique rhythm. It has a lacy elegance—something distinct from chain stitching. This time, I placed 3rd—just short of the top spot. The theme for this year was “Classic and Precision.” As last year’s champion, this was my second time competing—the first ever for a previous winner—so of course there was pressure. But I approached it with a stronger focus on balance and refinement than ever before. To be honest, I’m very disappointed with the result. That said, I remain fully committed—more than ever, in fact—to honoring the support I’ve received and to delivering work that reflects your expectations and orders with sincerity.
