Holmは訪問者を避け、観光客に作品を販売することを嫌がりました。ある時は自身の工房の扉に「一年間閉鎖」と書いて誰も入れなかったほどです。スウェーデン国王にさえも販売を拒否することもありました。 ただ、そんなÅke 「この作品を作ったとき、優しい気持ちが心に満ちていたのを覚えています。もしかしたら、心の奥底で抱いていた母への想いが、この『母の像』という形に向かったのかもしれませんね。これは私なりの感情表現だったのでしょう。」
