【『古賀崇洋展「破・わびさび in Sakai: Birthplace of Rikyu」』】 2026年1発目の展示は大阪堺市 @rishonomori にて開催いたします。堺は、茶の湯の大成者であり、私たち陶芸家の仕事においても避けて通ることのできない存在である千利休の故郷です。今回の展示は、その利休の生家の真正面に位置する茶室という、特別な場所で行います。百貨店や都市のギャラリーといったマーケット性の高い空間での展示も大切にしてきましたが、今回は「場所の意味性・歴史性・唯一性」に向き合い、空間そのものと作品が響き合う、より没入感のある体験を目指した試みです。この場でしか味わえない特別な時間を、ぜひご体感いただけましたら幸いです。お時間が合いましたら、ぜひお立ち寄りください。�お会いできることを楽しみにしております。ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーこの度B-OWNDは現代のアート工芸と茶の湯の精神を融合させた展示会『古賀崇洋展「破・わびさび in Sakai: Birthplace of Rikyu」』を大阪堺市にて開催します。展示は古賀がリスペクトする利体への現代的応答である。利休は、豪奢が権力の証となった戦乱の時代に、装飾を極限まで「削る」ことで人が人として向き合う場をつくり敵味方の境界すら一碗の前で溶かした。だが現代では「わびさび」は洗練の記号として安全に消費されがちだ。だから古賀は、利休をリスペクトするがゆえに、あえて「盛る」。光沢、色彩、量感、装飾の過剰一一視線を奪い、息をのませ、価値観を揺らすほどに突き詰めることで、逆に静けさが立ち上がる瞬間をつくる。派手さを軽薄ではなく、感覚を再起動するショック療法として現代的視点で提示する。ここで起こるのは単なる派手さではなく過剰＝ノイズという通念の転倒である。視覚が飽和する瞬間、逆説的に輪郭を得るのは沈黙だ。それは逃避としての静寂ではなく、暴力と同調圧力の時代に対して、感覚と判断を自ら引き受ける"選び取った平和”の触覚となる。展示空間は堺という利休生誕の地の茶道三千家命名の茶室を舞台に、ホワイトキューブの中立性に寄りかからず、導線と間合いをメディウムとして作動させる。鑑賞者の影、距離、滞留時間までもが作品の一部として編み込まれ、物質（陶）と制度（展示）と身体（観客）の三者がせめぎ合う、その場限りのコンポジションが成立する。派手さで静けさを取り戻す提案である。【古賀崇洋アート茶会開催概要】利休が北野大茶湯で構えた四畳半茶席を再現した茶室「無一庵」を会場に、古賀崇洋とコラボレーションしたアート茶会を開催します。古賀崇洋の茶器や作品に囲まれた空間で、実際にお茶を点て、味わう体験をお楽しみください。また、利休作で唯一現存する国宝・妙喜庵「待庵」を創建初の姿で復元した茶室「さかい待庵」の解説付き見学も実施します。【開催日】2026年3月7日（土）10:00～16:00のうち6回開催【開催場所】さかい利の杜無一庵大阪府堺市堺区宿院町西2-1 - 1 【申込方法】申込開始日時：2月6日（金）14時～（先着申込順）詳しい内容は以下のURLからご確認ください ※ @bowndjp のプロフィール欄にウェブサイトのリンクがございます /I/https://sakai-rishonomori.com/

【NEO NISHIKIGOI】 “NEO NISHIKIGOI,” a series of lucky charms by ceramic artist Takahiro Koga. Koga is known for his artworks based on the concept of"NEO WABI-SABI," encompassing both the "simplicity of stillness" and the "vibrancy of motion" in Japanese culture. 日本での品種改良の積み重ねによって生み出された「生きた宝石」錦鯉は、日本独自の美意識から生まれた文化の結晶である。自然の中に美を見出し、それを丹念に磨き上げて文化へと昇華させる姿勢は、日本文化の特徴そのものでもある。「祈り」に込められた日本文化のコアを海外へ発信しようとする古賀にとって、錦鯉というモチーフは、自身の在り方を映し出す鏡のような存在といえる。新シリーズ「昇り鯉」は、鯉が滝を登り切ると龍になるという故事に着想を得ている。古賀は、完成された龍ではなく、龍になろうともがく鯉の過程に目を向けることで、完成よりも過程に美を見出す、日本人特有の美意識を表現する。このように、鯉は縁起物であると同時に、わびさびの精神を象徴する存在でもある。そして本作において、錦鯉は、古賀がこれまで築いてきた表現の軸が交差する、重要なモチーフとなっている。 Koi Series Concept Nishikigoi, known as “living jewels,” are the result of generations of selective breeding in Japan—a cultural form born from a distinctly Japanese aesthetic. The sensibility of discovering beauty within nature and patiently refining it into culture reflects the very essence of Japanese tradition. For Koga, who seeks to share the core spirit of Japanese culture—prayer and intention—with the world, the koi serves as a mirror of his own artistic philosophy and way of being. The new “Ascending Koi” series is inspired by the legend that a carp that climbs a waterfall transforms into a dragon. Rather than depicting the completed dragon, Koga focuses on the process—the struggle and determination of the koi striving to become something greater. Through this, the work expresses a uniquely Japanese perspective that finds beauty not in completion, but in the journey toward it. In this sense, the koi is not only a symbol of good fortune, but also an embodiment of the spirit of wabi-sabi. Within this series, the koi becomes a central motif where the core principles of Koga’s artistic practice converge. 【SPIKY ROCK CUP】 Japan has entered the heart of winter, and each day brings with it a sharp, biting cold. At times like this, there is nothing better than enjoying a cup of coffee by the fireplace. It is a moment of quiet bliss, savoring the beauty of the changing seasons. The Spiky Series boldly challenges the contemporary tendency toward flat, simplified perspectives of objects. It is characterized by a daring form that appears almost resistant to being held, confronting the viewer with its striking presence. The protrusions spread across the vessel symbolize the inherent power contained within objects, rendered visible and tactile. It is as if an inner force has erupted outward, creating a dynamic and vigorous expression across the surface. Ceramics is a traditional craft cultivated over a long history. Through this series, Koga introduces a sculptural twist to the medium, aiming to surprise and delight those who encounter his work by offering a renewed sense of wonder when they pick up each piece. 【NEO MANEKINEKO-Donyars-】 In Japan, a cat’s meow is expressed as “nyaa.” So, inspired by the maneki-neko, I played with the name “Los Angeles Dodgers” and turned it into “Donyars.” Congratulations to the Dodgers on their championship! MANEKINEKO=lucky cat Manekineko is a figure of a cat with one paw raised for good luck to bring in customers and hence money. While visiting New York, Koga unexpectedly spotted a “maneki-neko” (beckoning cat) in a shop that seemed to have no apparent connection to Japan. The conspicuous presence of this cultural icon, even amidst a foreign backdrop, became an enlightening experience for him and led to the genesis of this series. Koga’s artistic style is rooted in the classical forms of Japanese art. Take, for example, his signature piece Hoo Yoroi Hai (Cheek Armor Cup). While it draws inspiration from the “alternative helmets” worn by warlords of the Warring States period, it is reinterpreted through a contemporary lens. Koga weaves his own perspective on modern society into his work as a “concept,” and this approach is evident in his take on the beckoning cat as well. This iteration of the maneki-neko is inspired by the classic form but adorned with the Cheek Armor Cup—a symbol intended to inspire ambitious young individuals. Thus, while preserving the traditional role that the maneki-neko has long played, Koga’s creation introduces fresh elements, offering a contemporary reimagining of this iconic figure for today’s world. Koga is known for his artworks based on the concept of"NEO WABI-SABI," encompassing both the "simplicity of stillness" and the "vibrancy of motion" in Japanese culture. Tsuetate Onsen, nestled in a narrow valley of Kumamoto Prefecture, is one of Japan’s most atmospheric hot spring towns. Known for its nostalgic Showa-era streetscape, the area features steaming rivers, wooden inns, and stone bridges that create a dreamlike scenery, especially when thousands of colorful carp streamers fill the sky during spring. The sulfur-rich waters are gentle on the skin, and visitors can enjoy public baths, open-air rotenburo, and footbaths along the river. 【NEO FUKURO-Oguni-】 FUKURO=Owl Among my series of lucky charms, there is also an owl. In Japan, owls are considered lucky symbols, bringing good fortune and a life without hardship. Globally as well, they are loved motifs— in Greek mythology, they symbolize wisdom, and in Hinduism, they guide goddesses. Because of their widespread positive meaning around the world, I created an owl as part of my lucky charm series. In many countries, the owl represents luck and wisdom. 【NEO MANEKINEKO】 MANEKINEKO=lucky cat Manekineko is a figure of a cat with one paw raised for good luck to bring in customers and hence money. During a visit to New York, Koga unexpectedly encountered a maneki-neko (beckoning cat) displayed in a shop with no apparent ties to Japan. This striking moment of cultural resonance in a foreign setting became the spark for a new body of work. Koga’s art is rooted in the classical traditions of Japanese aesthetics, yet it consistently incorporates a contemporary perspective. His signature piece, Hoo Yoroi Hai (Cheek Armor Cup), draws inspiration from the extravagant helmets of Warring States–era warlords, but is reimagined through his unique, modern lens. In this series, the maneki-neko is likewise reborn—adorned with the Cheek Armor Cup as a symbol to inspire ambitious young individuals. While honoring the traditional role of the beckoning cat, Koga’s creation introduces new meaning, offering a fresh reinterpretation that resonates with today’s world. 【Takahiro Koga ✕ Tea room”Sakai Tai-an”】 陶芸家・古賀崇洋茶器による国宝茶室”「待庵」の創建当初の姿を再現した「さかい待庵」での茶会A unique tea ceremony featuring the works of Takahiro Koga, a Japanese ceramic artist who visualizes "inner energy" through his distinctive "spiked" ceramics. His tea bowls, though unconventional, seem to reflect the passion, conflict, and very essence of life within us. This special tea ceremony took place in “Sakai Tai-an” a replica of Taian, a National Treasure tea house in its original form located in Sakai City. “Sakai Tai-an” is a minimalist tea room, a masterpiece designed by Sen no Rikyu, the legendary master of tea. It embodies the ultimate spirit of "Wabi-Sabi," emphasizing simplicity and profound beauty. 陶芸家・古賀崇洋氏の着目したスタッズは、物に内在する力を視覚化し、力の最小単位として圧倒的な存在感を放つ。 古賀がリスペクトする侘び茶の大成者・千利休は、黒茶碗を使うことでその存在感を無くし、茶を引き立てた。これに感銘を受けた古賀は、あえて作品の存在感を際立たせるという意味で、「反わびさび」を掲げる。堺市に佇む「さかい待庵（たいあん）」は、千利休が求めた「侘び茶」の精神が凝縮された究極の茶室だ。わずか二畳の空間は、豪華絢爛な時代にあって、あらゆる無駄を削ぎ落とし、本質的な美と精神性を追求した利休の美意識の結晶と言えるだろう。利休の「侘び茶」にもみられる「わびさび」という概念は、当時の権力や物質主義に対するある種のアンチテーゼだった。簡素であることの中に無限の豊かさを見出し、内面の充足を重んじる。利休が時代に問いかけたように、今、私たちが利休の精神をリスペクトして行うべきは、「ある種のアンチテーゼ」なのかもしれない。撮影：@nakanob_cinema 撮影協力： Sakai Plaza of Rikyu and Akiko（さかい利晶の杜） #bownd #tearoom #teaceremony #matchasakai #Takahirokoga #Wabisabi #JapaneseArt #ContemporaryArt #Japaneseculture
