Our friends at Wild Things and Blue Lug made jackets and balaclava that makes riding in the winter twice as fun. Last time, we made soft shell jackets, but we one upped to a PrimaLoft® insulated jackets for more warmth. The base jacket is our favorite Happy Jacket with some cyclist friendly details added. A huge pocket on the back is always helpful and we should always stay visible with reflective tapes. Double zip for easy ventilation when riding and packable hoods for when it’s necessary or not. It is a new movement founded by Paul components a few years ago. What's funny is that it is also Blue Lug's anniversary, which is perfect because we started out as a single speed specific bike shop. (It's our 19th anniversary btw) We just did a group ride this morning in the Hatagaya area and we saw many single speed bikes. We thought about why we even choose bikes without gears, but we just remembered Surly told us that single speed is a Zen. The simple looks is one reason we like single speeds and we also love the fact that you barely need maintenance for them. The bike feels more direct and straight forward, which are more reasons we like riding single speeds. If you already ride single speeds, keep it up! If not, we highly recommend getting one someday. It was one of the first mini-velos with tire clearance of adventure bikes, was designed by the Velo Orange staff who would frequently travel to Taiwan from the US with the ease of traveling and having fun in mind.
