It was likely produced before the popularity of Gekkō Kamen, suggesting that Akado Suzunosuke and Batman were the heroes for children at the time. Furthermore, Robby the Robot from the movie Forbidden Planet is also depicted with a wonderful unique arrangement. What is particularly interesting are the "Space Monkey" and "Laika the Dog" characters. This means animals launched into space via satellite were treated on a par with the heroes. Ten volumes (Vol. 10) were released. Karasawa defined pachimon as “unlicensed items, usually unauthorized imitations of the character designs from popular TV hero shows and similar media well-known to children. They also have subtle changes in design or name to prevent being sued by the copyright holder, or to serve as an excuse if they are sued.” He then defined items like “counterfeit goods and copies that use graphic illustrations identical to the genuine product” as nisemono (forgeries), thus clearly distinguishing between pachimon and nisemono. It was an impressive display, showcasing all of their works from the past decade alongside new creations. What made this sofubi exhibition truly unique was the explicit crediting of the prototype sculptors, wax mold creators, molding factories, and painters for each piece. This exhibition style is likely only possible because of the undeniable individuality of SwimmyDesignLab's designs. Their new Godzilla piece is a highly creative and unconventional masterpiece that only SwimmyDesignLab could produce. A photo of the head of this prototype was posted on his blog in July 2010. Its unusual and ominous form immediately captured attention, and many eagerly awaited its release. However, the prototype was never made into a soft vinyl figure, and updates to the blog ceased. After his passing, the management of Zel Art Industry discovered the prototype among his belongings at home. With the permission of his family, they made production possible. Thanks to their efforts, this piece is finally available, 15 years after its initial reveal. EXOHEAD's "Flying Saucer Kaiju Mother," created in the 2000s, was a masterpiece that propelled kaiju soft vinyl figures to the next level. It featured an innovative design that fused organic and inorganic elements, boasting intricate and highly artistic sculpting while retaining a nostalgic feel reminiscent of vintage soft vinyl. I think that EXOHEAD's pioneering style influenced many of today's top creators, such as iluilu (Kuramuzu, Million Model). This GID further advances the artistic direction of "Mother," with its head sculpting being particularly noteworthy. It's a complex fusion of eyes, nose, mouth, and various organic and inorganic elements, making it difficult to discern a clear "front" face. Yet, it possesses a unified, microcosmic feel. This piece truly represents the pinnacle of EXOHEAD's artistry and, in a sense, the ultimate achievement in independent soft vinyl figures. The clear version of this kaiju is extremely rare; I've never seen another one like it. It was likely produced in small quantities around 1972, when "Henshin cyborg" were popular. The header says "Metallic Xylophone," and the backing card is a bowling scorecard. This was probably because headers from other駄玩具 (dagangu, cheap toys) intended for export were repurposed. These five types are relatively rare for mini kaiju soft vinyl figures. The header illustration is wonderful. You throw them into the air, the parachute opens, and they float down slowly. Originally, candy stores sold parachute toys with soldier figures or marbles, so I believe this kaiju version was created during the kaiju boom as a variation. The header illustration is simply fantastic. It depicts a kaiju descending (or perhaps returning?) with a parachute, and the expressions of its fellow kaiju, as if they've been eagerly awaiting its arrival, are just priceless. What's more, the illustrations on the front and back are different. I haven't seen this particular set of four figures anywhere else, so it might have been produced in limited numbers. I'm curious about the manufacturer name "O.T." written on the header. Interestingly, its lower body and both arms are the same as those used on the unlicensed soft vinyl figure of "Diamond Eye." Judging by their broadcast dates, it's highly likely the Zone figure was produced first. The design of the lower body also seems to be modeled after Zone Fighter before he grew to giant size. A mystery lies in the hands, which strike a feminine and elegant pose. Perhaps an unlicensed sofubi of Zone Angel was also made?
