When my son Victor was accepted into Columbia University, I told them. “One day, I will take you to New York.” My father now walks with a cane, and just the day before to go school,my mother suddenly couldn’t walk. It was a frightening moment, and we weren’t sure if the trip would even be possible. But they both said the same thing. “We want to go to Columbia University and see Victor there.” In fact, they had been practicing walking in Japan for months, working hard toward this one day. They kept saying, “We have to get stronger — we’re going to New York.” And finally, after traveling through Hawaii, we arrived at Columbia University in New York. The moment I saw their smiles on campus, my heart was completely full. It reminded me of something important: Dreams don’t have an age limit. And I realized something else. “Someday” should be sooner rather than later. Actually… the best time might be now. Because the dreams we share with the people we love may not wait forever.   • 🇺🇸→🇯🇵→🇰🇷 今回の冬休みは日本で集合 ニューヨークから直接日本入りのビクターと福岡と釜山を楽しんだ後にハワイ入りして本日NYの方に帰っていきました。ボクモ　オトコニ　ナラナイトという言葉を残して。母として深いこの言葉ですこししんみりないです。甘いと思われるかもだけど日本じゃまだ高校生だし(笑) 更に優しくなってた長男でした🥹 Have a safe flight! 🇺🇸→🇯🇵→🇰🇷 This winter break, we reunited in Japan. Victor flew in directly from New York, and after enjoying Fukuoka and Busan together, he headed back to NY today, via Hawaii. Before leaving, he said, “I still have to become a man.” As a mother, those words hit deep — a little bittersweet.   • 無事に56歳を迎えました。　ここ数年思うこと。年齢はただのナンバー。 みんな驚くと思うけど年々気分がgoodになってきてます🩷 だから老いてくことがネガティブに取られがちだけど声を大にして言いたい。 恐れることはないと。思ってるより素晴らしいよと😍 気分は40歳くらいから止まってますw w←思いたいように思う。 子供を持ってから今年ははじめてビクターがいないお誕生日でしたが（代わりにクルーがいてくれた♡）まりあとありすのメッセージで泣き、レストランに行ったらビクターからのメッセージで泣き、帰ってきてまた嬉しすぎて泣き、涙もろくなった点においては年齢問題が拭えません。笑 何よりも自分自身が健康で、そして健康で立派な子供達に囲まれて、周りの56歳幸せ選手権があれば優勝するんじゃないかと思うくらい幸せなお誕生日でした🥰 望むことや欲しいものが変わってく中、これからは子育てというタガが外れいい意味で本当に最後のダッシュかけて行こうと思ってます。これからもどうぞ温かい目で見守っていてください☺️ 感謝❣️ 最後にお誕生日に相応しい素晴らしい料理心からありがとう🩷　 Happy 56th Birthday to me ❤️ I’ve made it to 56, and here’s what I’ve realized over the past few years: age is just a number. You might be surprised, but I honestly feel better and better each year. To everyone who fears growing older—I want to say, there’s nothing to be afraid of. It was even more wonderful than I imagined. If you don’t pay attention to the number, you’ll feel like time stops somewhere around 40 (at least that’s how I like to think, haha). This was my first birthday without Victor here (though Crew kept me company ♡). Still, Maria and Alice’s heartfelt messages brought me to tears, and then a surprise message from Victor at the restaurant made me cry again. By the time I got home, I was crying happy tears once more. Maybe becoming emotional like this is the only real sign of age! Most of all, I’m beyond grateful for my health, and for being surrounded by my amazing, healthy children. If there were a “Happiest 56-Year-Old” contest, I think I’d win first place. As my wishes and desires evolve, and with the chapter of raising kids coming to a close, I feel like it’s time for my final, joyful dash forward.   • 2025年夏　2025 Summer 18年前にビクターが生まれた日が嘘でもなんでもなくまるで昨日のようです。色々思い返すととにかく3人目の子育てということもあり余裕もわたしの置かれてる状況も全く違うスタンスでの子育てだったので本当の意味での楽しんだのは彼の時でした（お姉ちゃんたちごめんなさい。まだまだすることが多くて当時は母も未熟でした）常に元気でとにかく健康でそして大人になってからは優しくて頼れる嘘でもなんでもなく時に兄のような存在でした。息子が可愛いとよく言いますが確かに可愛い！笑　でもそれ以上にビクターの存在は家族のアロンアルファみたいな存在でいてそして太陽のような存在でした。みんなが彼を通してハッピーになるそんな特別な存在でした。ここからハワイにいなくなるだけで彼の人生のジェーニーはまだ始まったばかりで親としてはもちろん寂しいですが楽しみしかない。そして運命なのか自分が将来どこかに住む場所の一つとしていつもあげていたニューヨークに進学できたこともなんかの意味があると思ってます。感傷的にならずに彼の未来を思い切り応援して見届けていきたいと思ってます。フォロワーの皆様はビクターが赤ちゃんの時から見てくださってる人もいる故に寂しい気持ちもあるでしょうがどうぞ笑顔で見送ってあげてください。そして彼の未来をどうぞ一緒に祈っててください。これからのリー優子storyビクターが消えるのではなく単純にNYが増えてくって感じかな。最後に。ビクターに向けて。生まれたday1から今までもこれからも君の一番の応援団でいると共に何があろうとも心から君を愛してます♡ 神様からの一番のギフトが子供達❤️ 君の未来にワクワクしかない！ぜひ皆様からの応援コメントもお待ちしております🎵 PS 一つ忘れてたこと！庭でできてるバナナ今回は熟すのにタイミング間に合わないなぁと思ってたけど。やっぱり。彼が旅立つ日の朝に綺麗に熟してました。すごいね。思いのエネルギーって。　LOVE❤️
