I used five oil painting colors, Titanium White, Scarlet Lake, Crimson Lake, Raw Umber and Permanent Green, blending them in varying proportions to create the warm tones of skin. With my brush, I layered each stroke meticulously, allowing the boar-bristle brush to glide across the canvas. This method naturally shaped the delicate wrinkles around the eyes, with each brushstroke carrying emotion and movement rather than stiffness or rigidity.
