We filmed the short Cendol, in the East — so it felt only natural to return here, to reveal its very first flicker. Thank you, Marine Parade, for the grace and warmth with which you received us. Your encouragement reminds us that the journey outward is as meaningful as the journey within. My utmost respect to our visionary director Nelson Chia, whose artistry and insight brought out the very best in all of us. I had the honour of acting alongside Moses at the beginning of my career in Comedy Night’s 《孙子拼法》 and 《宝贝3+1》 where I played his daughter. You burst out laughing so many times during this first scene because I was so awkward as a newbie on TV. This scene was largely ad-libbed, including your “我的颈项很短” which had us all rolling on the floor laughing unable to continue to shoot. In the second scene, your reactions stemmed from genuinely not understanding a single word I was saying because I sped through my lines. And you said to me “Sharon, take your time, breathe in the comedy.” Thank you 益民大哥for patiently guiding young actors like me through the art of comedy—not just the words, but the rhythm, the movement, the unspoken beats that make a moment truly land. Most of all, you taught me that comedy thrives in joy, in letting go, and in having the courage to play. Just like life itself. Till we meet again. I will carry your laughter with me always. I rarely spend Chinese New Year in Paris. The last time I did was in 2021, during the height of the pandemic, when the world stood still and travel was restricted. And this year, once again, I couldn’t return. But I was lucky. Even in a city thousands of miles away from home, I was surrounded by friends who became family, sharing laughter, warmth, and every festive treat I longed for—especially my ultimate favourites, pineapple tarts and Bak Kwa. Every longing for home, was met with generosity and love. I strongly believe when you radiate the right energy, you will never be alone. The universe has a way of drawing kindred souls to your light. There is no doubt that the zest we put out into the world shapes the connections we make. This year carries a different spark—I can feel it. It is slowly unfolding with promise, and surprises. On the 13th (my lucky number) day of CNY, allow me to wish you a very healthy and happy Chinese New Year. 新年健康事事順心。

Fifteen years later, I walked the same paths, opened the same doors, and stood in the same spots—only this time, with a heart full of memories and a soul shaped by time. Returning to #Lyon after all these years was like stepping into a time capsule. I stood in front of my old dormitory for a long time, memories came flooding back. I tried to reenact the very photos I took as a wide-eyed exchange student—one at the entrance, another beside the mailbox to my Room 712. The same walls, the same air, but a different person. The one-year- exchange program at the University Jean Moulin III shaped me in ways I never could have imagined. Education provided more than just lessons in a classroom—it gave me confidence, perspective, resilience, and showed me a world far bigger than I had ever known. Standing there, I see that the past never truly leaves us. Every experience, every struggle, every breakthrough stays within us, shaping who we become.
