In 2019, I had my very first studio. It became the place where I created the works now gathered in this book — most of them photographed with a medium-format film camera and finished together with a lab printer. The past six years have been especially rich and fruitful. Yet without pausing to look back at the memories I hold dear, I found myself constantly moving — stepping out into the world, retreating back inside, circling around and around. In the midst of that life, this safe and unseen space quietly protected me. Still, nothing that happened in the world — past, present, or yet to come — was ever truly unrelated to me. Stopping for this book allowed me to meet my works again, as if for the first time. But I still gave it five times the effort. And what I am now is the result of it. Of course, no one knows this and no one else needs to know this. It’s enough that only I know this and what it means. Even if I hadn’t pushed myself so hard, you probably would have loved me just the same. But unless I myself embrace and love both the part of me that feels “I’m not enough” and the part that keeps trying to fill the gap up for it, I won’t be able to accept the love you offer. Like the eight-limbed creature from Plato’s “Symposium” split in half by the wrath of Zeus, maybe I've been living my life perpetually trying to be whole - all on my own. We seek perfection, hence we fear imperfection. But we ourselves, our love, and the world itself — are all imperfect. PHOTOGRAPHS.に片山のインタビューが公開されました！ 韓国語でも楽しめますので是非ご高覧ください！ https://youtu.be/mQBdBdyJGzM #후지필름 #한예종사진강좌 #키타야마마리 #KatayamaMari #片山真理 @kazue_naka @fujifilmkr_x2025/08/02に公開- 指定なしhttps://www.instagram.com/explore/tags/KatayamaMari#KatayamaMarihttps://www.instagram.com/explore/tags/片山真理#片山真理1.26%5737ランニングプロジェクト（仮）プライベートジムHOOP @hoop_maebashi へ行くの巻！2025年7月7日 プライベートジムHOOP（群馬県前橋市）にて、片貝功基トレーナーから「走るための身体づくり」について教えて頂きました。 片貝トレーナーは、老年病研究所附属病院にて理学療法士としてのキャリアを積んだ後、水戸ホーリーホックでは普及コーチ兼トレーナー、さらにザスパ群馬ではフィジオセラピストとして選手たちの身体を支えてきた、まさに“動く身体”のスペシャリスト。義足や補装具、その動きの話も分かるし、私のような義足ユーザーの身体の構造や特性、そして「その身体と義足でどう走るか」まで、一貫して相談できる心強い存在です。 数年前、私はトレーニング動画に夢中で、気になるメニューを次々に試しては“身体づくりのDIY”をしていました。しかし私は運動経験ゼロ。体育の授業の準備体操すらまともに受けたことのない私にとって、画面越しのストレッチやトレーニングを「見よう見まね」で正しく行うのは、あまりに無謀な取り組みでした。 そんなある日、セルフポートレートを撮影していると、マネージャーの中さんが「その肩甲骨の位置、おかしくない？」と気づきました。そこで初めて、見よう見まねと自分の身体の動かし方に根本的なズレがあることを痛感したのです。なんと両肩は亜脱臼寸前。私には理解出来ない、見えない身体の仕組みが関わる分野において、独学には限界があるということを身をもって学びました。 何事も、まずはプロに相談するのが一番！今回はその信念のもと、先日の「義足の図書館」マンスリーランで教わったストレッチや走り方を片貝トレーナーに共有し、私の身体と義足に合った、そしてそんな身体に合ったランニングのための、より効果的で安全なトレーニング方法を指導していただきました。 まず『「走るための身体づくり」の準備段階』という片貝トレーナー。自分の身体の現状を知り、適切なトレーニングとストレッチ方法を学びます。 まずはヒアリングからスタート。どんな手術を受け、どのように両足を離断したのか。現在の身体の状態、できること／できないこと、そして不安に思っていることまで、丁寧に聞いてくださいました。模型を使って、身体の仕組みを分かりやすく解説してくださる場面も。 義足を外し、断端の状態や骨の接合部を確認しながら、筋力や可動域のチェックも行いました。どれくらい力が入るのか、両足それぞれ押し比べをしながらの確認。そこから、義足をブレードに付け替えて、歩行と走行のチェックも行いました。（ちなみに、自分でブレードの装着ができました！やったー！） いよいよトレーニング開始。右足（下腿義足）と左足（大腿義足）では、筋肉のつき方も使い方もまったく異なるため、それぞれに適した方法でアプローチしていきます。正直、きつい！でも朝・昼・晩にわけ、コツコツ続けていきます。 トレーニング、ストレッチと、片貝トレーナー自らが実演をしてくださり、正しい姿勢を目で見て学び、どんな動きが何に効果があるのか、言葉で理解していきます。そして自分の身体で確認。ずれてしまいがちな体勢も、そっと手を添えて修正してくれます。 中でも印象的だったのは、「単純な回数ではなく、呼吸の回数で考える」という言葉。そして、ジムを「自分らしさが動き出す場所」と位置づける片貝トレーナーの言葉は、トレーニングを単なる作業ではなく、これから先もずっと続いていく「人生そのものの営み」として捉えさせてくれる道標のようでした。 ただ走れるようになるためだけではなく、もっと自由に、もっとしなやかに、自分らしく生きていくための準備。 片貝トレーナー、これからもどうぞよろしくお願いいたします。まずは、「走るためのトレーニング」のためのレッスンから。焦らず、誠実に、歩みを進めていきたいと思います💪 @kazue_naka @highheelproject2025/07/25に公開群馬県前橋市 日本 群馬県1.96%8997Memories of 2022. [About High Heel Project] “High heels are not special. But I want them to be one of your free choices, which are important yet also nothing special.” In High Heel Project (2011-), artist Mari Katayama aims to create prosthetic legs that allow her to wear high heels, walk, and perform on stage. When she was a student, Katayama worked as a singer at a jazz bar. One day, a customer heckled “a woman who doesn’t wear high heels is not a woman.” The vexation led Katayama to initiate this project. As she carried out research and development of prostheses, however, she realised the fact of society that not everyone has the freedom or choice to even hold an aspiration, like a child walking awkwardly on their mother’s high heels. Especially in Japanese social welfare, fashion seemed to be a luxury and not important in the rehabilitation and social activities of the concerned party. This is a problem faced by everyone in society, regardless of whether they have a disability or not. The most important thing is not that everyone should wear high heels, but that, first and foremost, they should have the freedom to say what they want and what they don’t want. “I must continue to walk and speak up wearing symbolic and extreme high heels.” With the goal of freedom of choice open to all, Katayama expanded the project through lectures, stage performances and productions. The project was suspended due to Katayama’s pregnancy and childbirth, but relaunched its 2nd edition in 2022. In this edition, the luxury Italian shoe brand Sergio Rossi became a partner to develop the high heels “Mari K.” VOGUE JAPAN, media collaborator, reported on the project’s journey and wrote articles on the interview series during 2022. Nabtesco, project sponsor, contributed the Japan-made electronic prosthetic legs “ALLUX2,” which dramatically expanded Katayama’s activities. Through connecting and speaking with different people, the 2nd edition has questioned “freedom of choice” and the possibilities of social welfare and the body itself. As ever, the project keeps moving towards the goal of “freedom to aspire to ideals” for all.2025/06/29に公開- 指定なし2.27%1,0419[Blade Debut: My First Outdoor Track Run!] June 22, 2025 Blade Library: Blade Running Clinic @bladelibrary.jp at Ariake Urban Sports Park ※The English translation is in the comments. 【初！義肢製作所から飛び出しブレードでトラックランの巻】 2025年6月22日 ギソクの図書館＜ブレードランニングクリニック @bladelibrary.jp ＞at 有明アーバンスポーツパーク 🦄13時に集合 スポーツ義足に付け替え済みで登場の方もいれば、義肢装具士さんが立ち会って調整しながら付け替えの方も。私は緊張のあまり両足ガタガタ震えていたので自分で付け替えできませんでした。そもそも、こんなにいっぱい義足の人を見たのは初めてだし、90mのランニングトラックを前にして広すぎるし逃げ場もないし😂、自己紹介もままならぬ状態でした（ごめんなさい！）。 🦄付け替え後→ストレッチ 待ってました！義足のランニングで必要なストレッチってなんでしょう？ スポーツ経験ありのマネージャーナカさん曰く「運動前の普通のストレッチと同じ」だそうで、ソケットを外しながらストレッチする方もいました。 🦄トラックでランニング準備 足上げ、ハードルを使った練習などでランニング前のウォーミングアップ。 高さの違う３種類のハードル、一番低いものでも中に入れず悔し涙。 🦄いよいよトラックランニング！ ようやく場にも慣れ、足の震えも落ち着いてきました。改めて周りを見渡すと、義足の方々や、その家族、義肢装具士の方々、学生さん、走るだけではなく競技用車椅子体験してる方々など、老若男女、いろんな人たちが和気あいあい参加していることに気づきました。すると突然「こわい！（これはわかる。アルクスになってからほとんど転んだことないし、ブレードで身長高くなったから顔から転びそうでこわい）」とか、「はずかしい！（なんで？？？）」とか「どうしよう！（何に？？？）」とか、自分の素直な気持ちがモリモリ浮かびました。 【感想】左の大体義足の膝継ぎ手がトータルニーからアルクス＋足部はキンテラに変わり、日常生活、日常の歩行は本当に自由になったのですが、ブレードでの走行はそれと比べることのできない自由さを感じました。言ってしまうと、義足を脱いだ状態で走る感覚に近い。ブレード後ろの出っ張ってる（反ってる）部分がどこかに当たると「ぎょっ」としたりとボディイメージはまだまだ掴めておりませんが、今回、膝継ぎ手をロックしているせいか、膝折れとか「きれいな歩行」とかを意識しないで動けた分、自由を感じたのかもしれません。昔は私にも一応足があったので、補装具を使いながらですが走ってました。その感覚に近かったです。だからこそかな、「走る」イメージは頭にあるのに、身体がついていかない感じ、圧倒的に筋力が足りないということが身に染みました。悔しい気持ち、いいですね！7月はもっと走れるようになりたいな！ 🦄老若男女全員参加の鬼リレー４周 おそろしい、おそろしすぎる。全員参加のリレー。処置室から初めて出た人をリレーに参加させるとは😂沖野さん、最高です！ バトンをいただき、くるりと回って（思えばそもそもトラックすら、線に沿って走れてなかったのに、このリレー４週目でコーナーに沿って走ることができました）、次の走者にバトンを渡すためにストップ。応援しながらも、いろんな人の走り方をじっくり研究→自分で実践できる”俺得”リレーでした！みんな、はやいはやい。かっこいい。めっちゃ楽しい！ ギソクの図書館、ブレードランニングクリニックのみなさま、沖野さん、遠藤さん、春田選手、田村さん、大島さん、まーや、にいのちゃん、バート、そして中さん、ありがとうございました。 7月も絶対参加したいし、それまでにもっと筋力とバランス感覚をつけて、長く、早く走れるように自主練できたらなと思いました💪 --- --- --- さすがに走った当日はぐったり&21時就寝でしたが23日、24日と両足の痛みは無く、心地よいくらいの筋肉痛でした。しかし、首が、寝違えたかのように痛い！これは脚切ってから走ったことない上半身が走りに反応した結果かな？(2025年6月24日)2025/06/24に公開- 指定なし3.21%1,45627[part 2] How this object was made…! That simple answer sparked a journey full of questions: How do you run with a blade? How do you swing your arms? What kind of warm-up do you need? With no athletic background, I’m diving in at 37—and I plan to share everything I learn along the way. Thanks to Tazawa Prosthetics @tazawamfgco , I’m using a rented Ottobock @ottobock @ottobock_japan blade, carefully adjusted for me by Tamura san @akitotam . It’s a whole new experience compared to walking with a regular prosthesis. At first, the springy blade made my knee wobble, but soon I felt like I was flying (even if it didn’t look that fast on camera!). I’ve been told I belong to the T61 classification—left side: above-knee prosthesis; right side: below-knee. Because I’m always cautious about knee buckling, we locked the knee on the thigh side. Starting in a crouch position with that setup? Time to learn by doing! The Running Project is just getting started—and we’re always looking for friends and supporters.
