For years, I was torturing myself with my own mental narrative and I didn't even know it. I didn't know that it was in my power to change it. To choose otherwise. One moment of awareness changed everything. In Japanese, we call it kizuki (気づき)—a realization, an inner shift, an aha that opens you to a truth you couldn’t see before. For me, this kizuki helped me release the endless mental loop that was weighing me down. It didn’t change what happened, but it changed how I held it. And in many ways, it saved me.
