I’m happy to share that the space is now complete, and I’d love to invite you to an open house. The atelier was built using a single large red pine tree that once stood on the site. The tree was felled, milled, dried, and processed—then used almost entirely to create the structure. Using locally sourced materials like this contributes to reducing environmental impact, revitalizing regional economies, and preserving local culture. Feel free to drop your questions in the comments! #アトリエ #地域材2025/07/01に公開- 指定なしhttps://www.instagram.com/explore/tags/アトリエ#アトリエhttps://www.instagram.com/explore/tags/地域材#地域材0.0%-1▶ 詳しいやり方はこちらから ↓ ▷Step-by-step guide below ⇩ －ガラスの金継ぎ－ ① 割れた断面にエポキシ接着剤を塗り、接着。 マスキングテープで固定して硬化を待ちます。 ② 硬化後、はみ出た接着剤をカッターで丁寧に削り取ります。 ③ 欠けた部分に金箔を貼って、装飾の下準備を。 ④ 欠けを補うように、エポキシパテを充填。 形を整えながら成形します。 ⑤ 硬化したら、パテの余分な部分を削り取ります。 ⑥ 成形したパテの表面に、生漆を塗って地固めをします。 ⑦ 硬化後、やすりで整え、割れと欠けのラインに白漆を塗布。 ⑧ 硬化後、やすりで整え、もう一度白漆を塗ります。 （この工程を2回繰り返します） ⑨ 最終に仕上げとして、白漆を漉してから塗り、金箔を 蒔きます。 ⑩ 真綿でやさしく磨き、しっかりと乾かしたら完成です。 ※今回は、接着に黄変しにくいエポキシ樹脂を使用しました。 - Glass on Kintsugi Process: ① Apply epoxy adhesive to the broken edges, join the pieces, and secure them with masking tape. ② Once the resin cures, trim off any excess with a cutter. ③ Apply gold leaf to the chipped area as a decorative base. ④ Fill the chipped area with epoxy putty, shaping it carefully. ⑤ After curing, shave off the excess putty to refine the shape. ⑥ Apply raw urushi lacquer to the putty to seal and prime the surface. ⑦ Coat the cracked and chipped areas with white urushi lacquer. ⑧ After drying, sand the surface and apply a second layer of white lacquer.(This step is repeated twice.) ⑨ Once dry, strain the white lacquer and apply a final coat. The bold line running through it felt as if it carried its own will. For some reason, I was deeply drawn to it, and ever since, I’ve wanted to try a repair like that myself. Last year, I was entrusted with a cylindrical bowl that had cracked during shipping— a clean break, right through the center. I pictured a strong silver line running through it, and thought it would look bold and beautiful. Something told me that the person who requested this repair would embrace such a distinctive kintsugi style. Today, I had the chance to meet her in person and hand it over directly.
