This time, my main tasks are to attend the printing of the first book (“Gold Rush Alaska”) and to edit, design and color proof the second book. When I entered Steidl's office, I saw the paper (Profisilk 170g) for my book sitting on the floor, and I knew it was time. However, this week's time is up as I haven't finished printing Damien Hirst's big work (“Pharmacy” series in London). It will be carried over to next week. Anyway, I would like to talk about the secret of this publishing house that Gerhard Steidel has built by himself for 50 years somewhere else, but I would like to tell you that in an alley in a small town called Göttingen, a huge Roland 700 offset press is continuously operated by a very old man at his will, and that he has been printing books of the world's top artists, as well as French books. I was overwhelmed by the sight of this old man running a huge Roland 700 offset press in an alleyway in the small town of Göttingen, printing books by the world's top artists and beautiful catalogs for famous French maisons. I saw the name of Ronnie Horn's new work next to mine, and I will do my best not to be skipped in the order. Thank you @novastelo!2024/09/08に公開- 指定なし2.99%1244フィンランドの北極圏域にある19世紀末のゴールドラッシュのリサーチ&撮影をしてきました。10日ほどかけてイヴァロ川を70キロシーカヤックで逍遥しながら、フィールドワーク。世界中 (アラスカ、南米パタゴニア、ニュージーランド、カリフォルニア、フィンランド)で長く続けてきた19世紀末のゴールドラッシュを巡る旅もここフィンランドのラップランドでひと区切り。また色々な所で成果を発表いたします。それにしても太陽が全く沈まない6月の北極圏での野営が深く寝れずにしんどかった。 I have been researching and photographing the late 19th century gold rush in the Finnish Arctic Circle for the last month, and have spent 10 days doing fieldwork on a 70 km sea kayak trip up the Ivalo River. The trip to Finnish Lapland marks the end of a long journey around the world (Alaska, Patagonia, New Zealand, California and Finland) to explore the late 19th-century gold rush. The Steidl residence where I am staying tonight is very beautiful and comfortable.
