Tracing the evolution from my early works, Being my Neighbor and Servant of the Whole, to my current project, 01.25.1997, I have reaffirmed that documentary acting, for me, is a work of vectoring, keep standing. During this, there was a lot of happy news, starting with the victory in the Moritomo court case, ‘our’ birthdays, happy wedding reports and several unexpected encounters. When the escalating brutality of each passing day makes me want to abandon it all. But It's not time to give up. I will keep facing whatever demands to be seen. It is estimated that there are around 200,000 people in the world with the same date of birth, and Tsutsu has so far met a total of 35 people in places such as New York, Poland and Tokyo. In preparation for this exhibition, Tsutsu stayed in Kyoto and searched for people born on the same day as him. Finally, during the Gion Festival, he met a Brazilian researcher born on the same day. The video and written records on display in the venue show the gaps and commonalities that emerged as he spent time with him, and the way he tried to fill in the 27 years they had never met.
