We thank FWD and their dedicated volunteers for taking part in the growth of our students. Youth Wellbeing Carnival” welcomed more than 9,000 participants and youth in last month for 3 days hosted at Food Square, Zone A, Lok Fu Place, was successfully raising public awareness about youth mental health and highlighting the importance of community support networks. We believe that by improving school and community environments, we can build a stronger support system for young people. A heartfelt thank you to our funder, Link's “Link Together Initiatives,” for their unwavering support in promoting open discussions around mental health, breaking the social stigma surrounding the topic, and helping participants gain a deeper understanding of the importance of #selfcare and #helpseeking behavior. At the same time, we sincerely thank every student, booth partner, performer, volunteer, and kind-hearted supporter. Enhancing community engagement is a key component of our programme, so we are working alongside these students to present “Together, We Flourish!” Youth Wellbeing Carnival at Lok Fu Place on 25-27 Apr! Our students will share SEL and mental health concepts through games, performances and workshops. Young entrepreneurs who built their business with mental health awareness in mind will share tips on regulating our emotions and managing stress. Visitors explored their emotional landscape through our interactive Mood Meter, leaving personal reflections on colourful memos - even preschoolers joined in, expressing feelings through drawing!🖍️ Visitors could also write postcards to their future selves or loved ones, which we’ll mail back before World Mental Health Day (Oct 10). Participation was enthusiastic! 📍 German Swiss International School's Wellbeing Week Students embraced peer support by writing uplifting messages for each other. Special shoutout to our talented volunteer whose handmade crochet toys were a complete sell-out - all proceeds going to mental health initiatives! Through different games, activities and roleplay, participating students can gain a more comprehensive understanding on the current challenges for young people in Hong Kong. By developing vital communication and interpersonal skills, they are set to become confident and competent peer supporters for themselves and their peers. One of the participating students said, “I liked how the session taught me different skills to talk to others or get them to share, because people around me, myself included, really need this kind of help. I can use what I learned to help others.” We will continue to cultivate more peers supporters, so that our youth can build a strong, resilient and stable support network for each other.
