Taking advantage of the deep, narrow plot along the Tōkaidō road, the office is positioned at the rear, creating a blank space at the front that can be used for artist-in-residence programmes. This space, where creation and exhibition take place, is intended to stimulate the office staff working there, while also allowing the atmosphere to seep out through the awning windows, thereby becoming a catalyst for communication within the local community. Wishing you all a peaceful New Year. 【ル ラボ 代官山 LE LABO DAIKANYAMA】 ル ラボの日本旗艦店のリニューアル。ル ラボがTOKYOらしさの特徴と考える力強いエネルギーと静けさという対立する要素の融合を、コンクリートと木という素材に落とし込み、壁面材のプレキャストコンクリートの製作に使用した浮造り加工の木製型枠をそのまま什器として用いた。型枠の凹凸を介した対照関係を空間に展開している。 Renovation of Le Labo’s flagship store in Japan. Le Labo considers the fusion of opposing elements—powerful energy and tranquillity— to be a defining characteristic of Tokyo, so we embodied it through the materials of concrete and wood. The wooden formwork, with its raised grain finish, used in the production of the precast concrete wall panels has been repurposed directly as fixtures. The contrasting relationship created by the formwork’s texture is extended throughout the space.
