This time, I’ll be doing a mix of things: sumo workshops, street sumo, “mawashi” percussion, rap sessions, and even appearing in the film African Kung-Fu Nazis 2!🔥 Basically, I get to bring everything I’ve been doing into one big week-long event. Honestly, I’m super grateful. Last year, I started telling myself, “Next summer, I’m going to Europe”— and now it’s finally happening. This trip feels like I’m packing all those dreams in my bag. ⸻ 🎤 I’ll be traveling with @nue_oneness, a rapper I first met in Melbourne 5 years ago. We’ll be doing a session together, and he’ll also lead a Noh mask workshop he’s been training for in recent years. Also joining us: director Sebastian @akfn_ss from African Kung-Fu Nazis, and my friend @0ii_moh_ii0, who introduced me to this event after we met in Okinawa. She’s a musician too—violin and guitar—and we’ll be doing a session together again like we did in Okinawa. So many reunions to look forward to! During my two week stay, I held street sumo 10 days and had over 200 challengers. Due to a combination of circumstances I have taken a week off busking. Thank you so much for loving sumo. It’s a bit sad to say goodbye, but I’m moving on to the next town. Don’t worry. I won’t leave without saying anything. So I decided to hold a sumo class in the park as a final event. If you have found sumo to be fun through this opportunity, if you want to meet me one last time, or if you wanted to do more sumo, please come. I can’t offer you any hospitality, but there are my body and my passion here. Let’s do some basic sumo training and some lights practical sumo. Participation is free , so feel free to join. The dates and times are as follows: Saturday, March 8th, from 2pm Sunday, March 9th, from 2pm At Flagstaff Gardens lawn (At the end of the video you’ll see where it is.)
