At the summit is the Koma Observatory, with a souvenir shop on the first floor, a restaurant and cafe on the second, and a rooftop observation deck on the third floor. Its principal deity is the Thousand-Armed Kannon Bodhisattva. Surrounding the temple are the Mount Tsukuba Plum Grove and the ropeway station that takes you to the summit, so there was plenty to see. ✨✨ We're about halfway through our pilgrimage to the Thirty-Three Bandō Kannon Temples, and we're gradually seeing temples further away from Tokyo. 😅 We've visited Tokyo, Saitama, Kanagawa, and Chiba, and now we have temples in Ibaraki, Gunma, and Tochigi left. When we got there, the wintersweet was in full bloom, and there were plenty of early-blooming plum blossoms, too. It was so beautiful, and the fragrance was amazing! ✨✨ Since the sign originally read "Mount Tsukuba Plum Grove," it seems like most people visit when the plum blossoms are in full bloom. It was a great decision! As we approached Okuzure Suisenkyo, daffodils were in full bloom everywhere, along with early-blooming plum blossoms and rape blossoms. Even before we arrived, we were ecstatic and excited. 😊♪ Okuzure Suisenkyo and Sakuma Dam Lake Waterfront Park are located on the same lakeside, so there were many people walking around enjoying the daffodils and scenery. It features a stylish restaurant and shop on the farm, and a log-surrounded bonfire flickering in the garden. ✨✨ As soon as I entered the restaurant, I was greeted by a display of delicious-looking cakes. 😋 The food on the menu looked so good, and even though I came for dessert, I ended up eating both. 🩷 The food and cakes had an American and French country feel, were hearty, and incredibly delicious, showcasing the flavors of the ingredients. 🍴 Kobiki's Blessings Grilled Vegetables, Grilled Vegetable Salad, Beef Potatoes, and French Farmhouse Stew. With bread, lemon custard pie, Isonuma yogurt strawberry tart, blended coffee, and Isonuma milk coffee. The Isonuma Milk Coffee came in a large bowl filled to the brim with hot milk and served with a shot of espresso coffee. ✨ The cakes were absolutely delicious, but the flavors of the ingredients really came through. The lemon custard pie was nicely tart (my favorite). We had a light breakfast at Dangozaka, looked around for souvenirs, and arrived at Sayama Hidaka IC just before noon. For lunch, my partner offered to treat me, so I went to Echigoya Honten for eel. 😋 This restaurant not only serves eel, but also has a wide selection of WappaMesi dishes. I came here from the Fuji Five Lakes region, crossing Misaka Pass. Because it was a cold, snowy day, I skipped the nearby, more famous Hottarakashi Hot Springs and instead opted for the nearby Pukupuku Hot Springs. ♨️ The hot springs were incredibly warming, and I was still sweating for a while after getting out, feeling warm and cozy the whole time. 🩷 Afterward, I had dinner at Hoto Kura Funari, which I happened to come across on the way here, before heading to my lodging in Otsuki for the night. 🚗 There's also an Funari along the national highway in Kawaguchiko, and as a three-time winner of the Hoto Tasting Competition, it's always incredibly crowded, so I passed by it with my fingers in my mouth. We had golden hoto (duck and pork) with fried taro. 😋 The hoto soup apparently contained abalone liver paste, which made the soup delicious. I remember a local friend bringing me here about 30 years ago when I lived in Yamanakako Village. Verde was also a place I was brought to by a local friend back then. It's been delicious ever since, and although it seems to have changed hands, it's still as good as ever. When my partner and I first started dating, he became even more obsessed with Verde's spaghetti than I was, and he's become a huge fan. 😅 Because of that, Verde is an indispensable place for both of us, and we want it to continue forever. 🩷...
